Title: Sick?
Post by: smurfboy on October 07, 2006, 08:18:15 pm
Okay, I'm officially old. This lad was trying a hat on in Blue Inc. today and said to his girlfriend 'this looks sick on me innit?'. I had no idea if he loved it or hated it! I spent ten minutes looking at the same shirt, probably convincing the staff I was a shoplifter in the process, just so I could see if he bought it. He did, so I presume something being 'sick' is now a good thing?!?

I've never heard that one either. Some people invent their own words thinking it will be cool and catch on.

Smurfy I have been watching "Pimp My Ride" on five for the last few weeks, and on the American version they say things are "sick" every time

I heard another ridiculous 'new' word on the news the other day. There was an item about a school in Wolverhampton that had introduced a compulsory 10-minute exercise session every morning before classes began. The Head of the school said 'this is an excellent project for life-beginners to be involved with'.

'Life-beginners'? Can't children just be called children anymore? Will we have to start calling pensioners 'life-enders'?

Yes, 'sick' now means 'good' among the Hoodies and the Chavs.  They used to say 'bad', but that's not uncool enough apparently.

Ooooh no, I hate the 'L' word. Don't mind it in relation to lawns or the name of the shop but that's about all.
