Title: dark flake
Post by: clairestelle on September 28, 2006, 05:47:43 pm
At least it's not called cdm with flaky bits...
Selling for 49p (extortionate but I bought two) in Martin's newsagents. Very nice. Not like the one in Flake moments though, just regular flake in plain chocolate.  Does anyone know if they have stopped making the Flake moments box that has just the praline variety in it?  Not seen it for ages. Flake praline bar not the same.

Will you be trying the new dark choc Kitkat oldspice? It has a higher cocoa content than even dark Flake.

No. I am not going to buy any more Nestle products. I've said it before but this time I mean it. I am even going off Cadbury's products. I had a Crunchie a few days ago and it was vile. I tried again the next day with same result.

I hope everyone follows the same path in all honesty, because then perhaps the better quality chocolate (Lindt, Green & Blacks etc) will come down in price as people stop eating Nestle, Cadbury's etc.

Tried this today, it's nice. Only 44% cocoa solids, but still definitely 'dark'. 7.5 out of 10.

Bought one today. Not bad but a little too "Bourneville" for me. I wouldn't buy these very often, the normal version is much nicer.

I obtained one of these today in Woolies (they had thousands) and I am about to eat it live, on the forum, to give you my verdict.

It seems thinner than traditional Flakes, it doesn't look that dark. I'm about to bite into it ....... well it's certainly flaky, it's quite sweet, it tastes a lot like Bournville.

I think next time I will have to chill it. I find chilling chocolate makes it taste less sweet.

All-in-all, although i like dark chocolate, I prefer the milk Flakes.

She also said they used to make them years ago - is that true?

I don't remember them being made here before but I know they've been available abroad (Australia) for a while.

I'm going to try and get one at Woollies tomorrow.  Can't wait.  Sounds like choccie heaven to me.

I am definitely a plain chocolate person so I have been on the look out for the Flake Dark since I heard they were coming out.

I bought two yesterday in Woolies and I was not disappointed. Not particularly flakey so you don't get in such a mess as you do with the normal ones. Personally I would like them to be even darker but I will definitely be buying them again.

By far the best flake of the bunch.

Yes, suspence, I agree entirely.  But it just seemed like three bites and it was gone .  Still, I've got another two in the cupboard .

Forgot to say, they are only 160 calories each, so a good choice if you're trying to cut down.

Why would it be? It's nothing like a CDM bar! Some people just like to pick on a subject and moan.

I tried the dark flake last night and it was nice although I think it would have been better if it was 'dipped'
