Title: Bounty’s naughty trees
Post by: on September 09, 2006, 09:41:51 pm

I don't just love birds and butterflies, I have a thing for trees too. Here's some pics of the best of the bunch in my area.  More to follow later.

This Horse Chestnut is at least 250 years old.  A magnificent specimen I'm sure you'll agree.

Here's a close-up of the trunk, which is in an old churchyard.

This Black Italian Poplar has a girth of 4.83 meters!   It's made short work of this 1950's fence.  Unfortunately this tree is in what's called senescence and all the upper brances have fallen off.  It's probably 150-200 years old.ly

Good, they have personalities.  I hate to see signs nailed to them.

I love trees, especially big old ones that have seen a lot of history pass them by.

Willow trees are particularly beautiful I think
