Title: UK?
Post by: cambece on September 07, 2006, 09:19:48 pm
When I signed up for the forum I didn't realize that it was based in
the UK. Yes I have a love for chocolate but since I'm in the US we have
different products/companies here, but for that reason I will not
leave. I want to try to fit in more. I was wondering if someone could
give me some pointers on terms and lingo to make me seem more British?
Things such as the spelling of colour/color.

Hi Cambece

It's true that most of us are based in the UK, but we like hearing about foreign products too! A lot of us have shopped at Cybercandy, who sell products from across the globe. What's your favourite choc bar? When it comes to US bars, nothing beats the Oh Henry for me.

We have had lots of non UK-based people on the Forum and we don't mind at all if you talk about your choc bars instead of ours. We would find it interesting. I don't know about many USA choc bars but I am very interested in the Cherry Mash that is sold in some States. I love cherry flavoured things and we do not get nearly enough of them over here but in the USA I understand you do?

Americans also get far more peanut butter based products, and while I know one or two people on this forum would hate that , I love them. Reese's Nutrageous is a big favourite of mine - you can get it in Woolworths, Selfridges and, bizarrely, Topshop, but rarely anywhere else.

Funnily enough, Cherry mash is reputed to be a peanut and chocolate shell filled with cherry fondant. A strange combination I know  but i would quite like to try one.
