One of the most hilarious performances, the woman who sang Like A Prayer and I Have A Dream:

I can't believe it's taken us this long to get an X-Factor thread!
Apparently Louis Walsh and Paula Adbul have a big bust-up over one of the contestants. He tells the contestant, Haifa, that she has no talent - despite the fact he put her through to boot camp the previous year and she got into the last 12 in her category. She was a Pop Idol semi-finalist too!
-
Kev, that performance was horrific.
-
Kev, that performance was horrific.
That's obvious but it was hilarious to watch.
-
Yes, it's very funny - and watching it a second time made me realise that she is really quite attractive but cannot sing.
-
Did anyone see that 56 year-old woman doing Kylie's Can't get You Out Of My Head" last night? It was pitiful but they put her through!!!
There was also a horrific rendition of "Let Me Entertain You" and a hysterically funny but bad "Wherever I Lay My Hat".
In each case the people concerned were convinced they had what it takes to win. I think they have to seriously ask themselves would I pay £30 plus to hear and watch me sing???? Some of them had no stage presense what so ever.
-
I didn't see it but I'll watch the repeat tonight.
I think some of them know they are bad but go on to have a laugh, but some genuinely think they have what it takes. Therre was one woman who said she wanted to be an internationally famous star which just made me laugh. As far as I'm aware no one who has ever won Pop Idol/Xfactor etc has ever become internationally famous.
-
The girl who sung YMCA really bad did quite well from the Pizza Hut adverts.
-
Next week sees Sharon leave and fly back home after a phone call from Kelly saying the house is on fire.
-
What about those two last week who sang The Lion Sleeps Tonight?? They were atrocious.
Who set Sharon's house on fire? Was Ozzie making some chips? Poor old fool.
-
It was something to do with an electrical fault. They had to get all their dogs and move out to their other home in the country.
-
Lucky them. I wonder if when they buy stuff they buy two, so if one home burns down it survives in the other house.
-
That must have been a difficult time for her. I think she's really nice, a real sweetie.
-

Surely they furnish both homes but not the same.
-
Well the final 12 have been chosen. I guessed all the groups correctly but only got 3 soloists right each. Ditching Gemma was a big mistake on Simon's part - she was one of the best singers, but he had two young boys that he thought old grannies would like and couldn't resist taking one of them.
-
I read in the paper that one of those young boys and another group may be disqualified for already having recording deals.
-
Avenue are the group and they did get disqualified. Not sure who the boy is but I think it might be Ray 'Antnee Murray' Quinn.
-
Yes Avenue were disqualified but it is now Eton Road and Ray who are in trouble.
-
I think two of the boys in Eton Road are more than friends.
-
I think I know which two you mean.
-
Hmm, let me guess..... My prediction is that a female might win as only male winners in the past (including all male group G4 - allegedly the real winners in 1st series) Time for some girl power?!!
-
From what I have seen so far I would like a female winner, but I don't see it happening.
-
am i the only one who loses interest in x-factor when all the useless, talentless drones have all beeen eliminated. whats the fun now everyone who is left can sing?

That's exactly what me and my friend were saying the other week. It just gets boring after the first auditions. My favourite was the woman who sang "Like a Prayer" - she was hilarious!
-
Do you think there is much of a gap between the filming and the programme being shown on TV?
I have noticed there were several people at the bootcamp stage who didn't get featured on the programme much and they were the ones who went home.
I think maybe the programme makers know who goes through and they want you to get attached to a particular act.
-
There was a couple there from Sunderland and I read their story in the Sunderland Echo about 3 months before it was shown on tv.

I get bored for a couple of weeks, but once the also-rans have been eliminated from the live final (usual a crappy group and someone old they put through out of sympathy) I decide who I want to win, and I get excited again.

A lot of them seem to have sob stories this year.
-
Every week someone had a sob story. You know when it's about to happen: cue sad music, and a sad womans voice saying "Three years ago Angela here had a car accident, broke her back, lost all her hair, and then all of her family died in a house fire..."
Sharon almost always let people through who clearly didn't deserve it (ie. the boy who did the splits). What's wrong with her? It won't make her look evil to tell people they're rubbish when they are!
-
Who do we think will go first? I think it will be one of the groups or the over 25s - possibly The Unconventionals (or The Misfits as my sister calls them!)
-
every poll i have seen has dione ( not sure if thats spelt right
) as the fave to be evicted 1st and ray emerging as a fave to win, not sure who i like best, even though i know they wont get very far im supporting the unconventionals, i have met Drew several times and he really is a lovely man and has a fabulous voice, have also seen lucy and nicola perform a few times and they too have good voices
-
Which one is Drew?
-
Ray was Anthony in Brookside.
-
Yes, apparently Simon only put him through because he threatened to drown him in the duckpond otherwise.
-
I've lost interest in the X Factor lately. Saturday night TV is atrocious. I'm getting too old for wall-to-wall light entertainment.
-
The Unconventionals went but Simon was right. They were diabolical.
-
Kerry came second in A Song For Europe in 1997, coming second to Katrina and The Waves.
-
Dionne's performance was good, I just don't think she is cute enough or has a sob story enough to make people vote for her. A bit like Brenda last year, she won't win but will probably be successful nonetheless.
I really want the MacDonald brothers to do a Proclaimers song
-
'When you goooooooo, will you send bach, a letter frooooooom America? Take a loooooooooook down the rail trach, from Miami to Canada...'
-
I bet the MacDonalds would get through if they sang that
thanks Smurfy.
-
I think The Macdonalds will be next to go.
-
They just seem a bit dull to me.
-
More than a bit.
-
'When you goooooooo, will you send bach, a letter frooooooom America? Take a loooooooooook down the rail trach, from Miami to Canada...'
I've got their album. It's quite good. Better than most of the music that has come out of Scotland - like The Bay City Rollers, that twit in a kilt that used to sing about the Scottish Soldier and Johnny Where's Your Trousers
-
Johnny Where's Your Trousers
It was Donald's troosers
-
Ah, the late, not so great Andy Stewart.
-
Seriously, how can a nation be represented by someone who is willing to sing:
Let the wind blow high
Let the wind blow low
Through the streets in my kilt I'll go
All the lassies sing "Hello Donald! Where's ye troosers!?"
-
4Sure have been voted off. They weren't the worst singers on Saturday night.
-
I am glad Robert got through (I voted for him
) but I don't think he or 4sure deserved to be in the final two.
-
The dull as ditchwatcher McDonald Brothers have to go. Ray isn't up to much either.
-
Ray gives me the creeps.
-
And he keeps going on about how he's been waiting for a chance like this all his life. So getting a major TV role as a child wasn't an opportunity then?
-
He's a first class brat.
-
And he keeps going on about how he's been waiting for a chance like this all his life. So getting a major TV role as a child wasn't an opportunity then?
all his life? all 15 years of it, then? that's really n ot that long to wait for anything, these days.

He will be writing his biography soon. It seems you have to write it before you are 20 these days.
