Hi Chocolatefan.

Yes, many of us on the Forum mourn the passing of such great classics as Opal Mints (Pacers), Fry's Five centres and Cabana.

The Forum is here so we can look back fondly, have a little moan and exchange memories but ultimately, we have to accept that these bars are in the past as far as the chocolate companies are concerned and that is where they will stay.

Hi all, sorry have not been on for ages.  As you can tell from my name, I too would kill for a Mint Cracknell again Old Spice.

I've really missed you guys, chatting about choc. etc.  sorry not to have been on more regularly. Will try harder.    I've just given reviews of Melts (dark) and petitioned to bring back the good old wispa bar. Although I'm liking the Aero truffle at the moment.

speak to you all soon, MC

I agree with you there. Such a shame that people aren't interested in different flavours anymore.

I loved the Lime Cracknells too. And I would KILL for a pack of Opal Mints.

I want to be on that programme, Life on Mars, and step into the TV, visit a shop and come back with a bag containing Amazin Raisin Bars, Cabanas, Milk Tray Bars, Mint and Lime Cracknells, JellyMellow Bars, Opal Mints and Toffee and Mallow Eggs. There's be Goldencups for GC, boxes of Weekend for Lou and I'll take orders from all you youngsters who don't remember all these wonderful things.

When did they stop making them? I remember having some in the mid 90's.

Woolworths bought the rights to them and produced them exclusively in the mid nineties.

So the Spangles with the question marks on the wrapper were not a figment of my imagination

"There are many nostalgic refrences to them on Internet message boards
from children who grew up with them in the sixties and seventies, now
middle-aged."

Oh and King Size Mars, which the PC brigade got done away with. I used to eat one nearly every day, and I never put on weight.
