I passed my test 10 years ago and have 10 years no claims. Recently my partner took the theory test and helping him revise I realised I had forgotten the meaning of a few signs.

I've been driving for 27 years and have a full car and motorcycle licence and have passed the Advanced test for both.  I would not say I'm a particularly good driver though and I don't enjoy driving.

I don't enjoy driving either, gc. I am curious about your passing the advanced driving course, how long ago did you do it?

I have passed a motorway course but this took in 6 elements of driving e.g driving in severe weather, night driving

Back in the dark ages Cherry, mid eighties I think?  I thought it was worth doing at the time.  I also did an advanced driving course that the Police were running around the same time.  I worked for the Traffic Police then (as a civilian) and saw the details of so many horrendous accidents that I did every course going to improve my driving/motorcycling.

I passed my driving test in 1978 but had to stop driving a few years later because of epilepsy and eye problems. My daughter passed her test a few weeks ago and has just acquired an old but reliable car. She is going to take an advanced driving course before she goes off to university in a few weeks. At university she will take her category C driving test as part of her Paramedic Course. My husband is a professional driver (London cabbie). I don't miss driving.
