Title: Mashed Potato
Post by: goldencup on August 07, 2006, 09:55:49 am
Do you use a potato ricer, traditional masher, mixer or a fork?  Or do you prefer instant mash?  I have a Lakeland Spudnik and also a potato ricer, both of which are excellent.

I use instant - MUCH faster, and you can add butter, salt and pepper to
make it tasty. When I make it the old fashioned way it always gets
lumpy no matter how much I mash it.

I use a masher. No idea what a potato ricer is and I wouldn't touch instant mash with a bargepole.

Like smurfy I don't have  a clue what a potato ricer is. I use a masher.

Sometimes I use Smash. Is that what you use Kevossa? I add lots of pepper and lurpak and I love it.

No lou I use 'Mr Mash', it's actually nicer than Smash. I fried some
onions earlier on and mixed them in and it tasted loverly

its bit like a really big garlic press that you put cooked potato through then just add what you want and give it a good stir and hey presto lump free mash
