Dial-a-disc? You used to phone a certain number (we used to do it from a phone box) and listen to a record in the charts. The PO selected the record for that week.
Regularly a friend would ask "Do you know what's on Dial-a-Disc this week?".
What were we like eh?

Oh yes! I remember dial-a-disc!
I actually remember before it was straight dial through, you had to dial the operator to put you through!!
Usually songs like Alvin Stardust or Donny Osmond ....... oh, wild halcyon days

Can't remember the number. If the song was naff, we used to boo and hiss down the phone!

remember it well :) dialing 16 from phone box and trying to hear what song is was before the pips cut in
