When a taxi driver doesn't offer you your change and assumes he is getting your 50p change as a tip do you let him keep it or ask for it. Until recently I have always been embarrassed to ask but now I do.

I can honestly say it's never happened.

Happens all the time here. In Sunderland it never happens but in Tynemouth all the time.

I would ask for it. 50p adds up! You can buy a bar of chocolate with that.
