I couldn't remember if we'd done this before, so here it is. No restrictions - British, American, in or out of production - whatever you like.
My vote has to go to One Foot in the Grave. Hilarious, brilliantly written, and a damn sight cleverer than your average sitcom. Its dark and slightly surreal edge was also very innovative at the time.

Is is a sitcom though? It's a cartoon isn't it? Like Secret Squirrel and Squiddly Diddly.
-
To call it merely a cartoon does it a great injustice.
-
Oh no, I don't mean merely a cartoon. It's very funny and quite naughty too. America laughing at itself.
