I like the heat. It's the only good thing about being out of work at the moment!

Not as yet, no. But memories of a very sticky office in 2003 - the last really hot summer - make me feel quite grateful!

At this time of year, with no students in, we are in the office full time or in meeting rooms. Our office reached 97F today.

Although there is no definitive temp in the Workplace regs, 97oF would be considered too hot.

The Union doesn't give a **** about conditions, pay or anything else. The teaching unions are pathetic. I'm joining the T&GWU.

The record was at Gravesend on August 10th 2003, when it hit 38.1 degrees C.  It's possible that will be broken this week.

114F in my sun lounge! 102F in our office today at 1.47pm. We all logged off the computer, left the office and did 'back room' duties in a cooler, more opne plan area. At 3pm we all headed for the door!

Mind you, we start work before 8am most days and work through lunch every day.

I live near Gravesend and I think this weather is too hot. It should stick at 25C no more no less  and rain only at night from about 10pm until about 5am that would keep the flowers happy!

Spectacular thunderstorm here this afternoon. I can't remember seeing rain like it and it was black as night.  This was just as the bride arrived at the wedding I was playing for!
