Title: Great recipes from around the world
Post by: on December 21, 2004, 09:43:24 pm

No. 79  Orange Surprise.

Ingredients:

Mandarins, orange jelly, water for jelly, ginger nut biscuits, Angel Delight, Terry's chocolate Orange.

Take a small tin of mandarin segments and place into the bottom of serving dishes.  Melt jelly in microwave or saucepan as directed on packet and pour onto mandarins.  Allow to set.

When the mixture has set, crumble ginger biscuits so they form a good 1/4 inch layer on jelly.  Wisk Angel Delight and put geneorous covering on biscuits.  Finally grate some Terry's Chocolate Orange on the top.

Put back in Fridge for 15 minutes then serve.

Simple but delicious.

Get an apple, press a banana onto it, dip it in treacle, and then throw it in the bin.

Get Robbie, boil him in oil for a few hours, then celebrate with a box of After Eights. Delicious.

I thought they would have been banned by the additive police by now, or for not containing real angels or something.

Notice how Robbie; unable to appreciate the irony of the post, simply replies with reductivist vandalism '....then throw it in the bin'.

What is ironic about this post?  Is it an existing recipe?

I should have said 'resorts to' not 'replies with.  Sorry.

You can't explain irony.  If you don't get it then it doesn't matter.

Irony is what you do when your clothes are creasy.

Don't call BH ironic - he is not an iron.

Ah sweet Irony - the most incorrectly used word in the language - or one of them at least.

Dream Topping does still exist - and it is still delicious!

What's your favourite flavour of trifle?  I like strawberry or pineapple.

Is this a Delia Smith or a Gordon Ramsay?
