the most memorable thing you've ever seen or done?
Mine is the 1999 solar eclipse on the Isles of Scilly. It was awesome in the old fashioned sense of the word. I was gob-smacked.
-
Seen? The reef around the island when I spent time on holiday in the Maldives.
-
The view from the top of the World Trade Centre.

I don't do heights.

Standing on the spot where JFK was shot .
JFK was shot from a moving car so according to Newton there is no point in space at which he was shot; only a point in time.

-
So why is there a big metal cross marked on the ground. Ok I looked out of the window in the book depository he was supposedly shot from.

Fair enough. The cross can only mark the area he was in when he was shot.
-
The grassy knoll was 15 feet away from where he was shot. The book depository was 150 feet away. I think Minty is right.
-
The grassy knoll is an old favourite, but the book depository is more likely to be the place according to recent analysis by ballistics experts.
-
I thought an FBI agent shot him from the grassy knoll. The day after I visited the spot someone lay down on that metal x and shot himself.
-
Ooof
-
I always thought it a pity that I hadn't went to the zoo the day before and book depository the next day and i may have seen the man shoot himself.
-
That's a bit morbid.
-
No it's not. It's life. Or death in that mans case.
-
Returning to the topic please....
(just call me Pandapants II
) the most amazing thing I've seen is the Great Barrier Reef. From under the water of course.
-
Yeah why did my answer cause a flippin debate.

In 1984 I went to Glastonbury and bought a 5p CND raffle ticket. I won a trip in a hot air balloon! In those days, not many members of the general public had flown in balloons. We set off at 5am the next morning and rose into the air. We drifted acroos Somerset as the sun rose in the sky. The landing was bumpy but it was a beautiful experience. I'm too much of a coward to do it nowadays!
-
I couldn't go in a balloon, the basket is too low.
-
I can't decide if I would or not. I'm scared of heights so probably not a good idea.
-
Oldspice that sounds wonderful. I've only been in a tethered balloon (I can see one out of my window!) but I'm hoping to go up in an untethered one in Egypt in November. goldencup38894.6815856481

I hope not!

It is very noisy when they fire up the burner.
-
This may sound slushy but my most memorable thing is when my Son was born and I knew he was ok... all the right bits in all the right places and in good health.

Good point - I forgot about those little events!
