I thikn there shoudl be worn at all times in schools! no expections !!!!!
-
Boys can wear what they want. Girls should wear uniforms when they get to 16.
-
EVERYONE shoudl wear them until there leave school
-
Girls should wear them til they're 18.
-
You only think that for pervy reasons though.

Imagine a world with no murder, rape, paedophilia, burglary, robbery, mugging...
If the worst thing that happened was people like me enjoying the sight of adolescent girls in school uniforms it wouldn't be a bad place to live would it?
-
That's true. But I thought this was a serious discussion on the school uniform.
-
Yes, you're quite right. I must temper my frivolity.

Where do you get these pics from, schoolgirls.net? If there is such a thing.

I think that the school uniform should be worn.
1. School kids look smart and respectable in uniform.
2. Bullying is rife in some schools and not being in the latest gear or if your parents can't afford to don you in the latest clobber would make you a prime target.

Just Google image search. I'll try that URL though.

that my point there all the same, I agree kids shold have a place of indvalitaty but not in schools

I disagree with school uniform. Teachers constantly tell kids not to just follow the crowds and do things because their friends do - yet if you wear black trousers instead of mid-grey or don't have a tie on, and basically don't look identical to everyone else, you get shoved in detention!
-
I agree school unifrom is a good thing, in addition to Bonkers's very valid points:
It's a way of making the children feel part of a team
It saves any hassle of deciding what to wear
I think the children behave better
It helps identify children on school trips

Bounty, i bet if you ever have a daughter you will change your mind!
-
OK, I get your point, but wearing a uniform to school is a rule to be adhered to just like the laws of the land. If you don't abide by the law you get punished, if you don't wear a uniform to school or wear the wrong thing you get punished, if you don't wear a suit to work then your in the office etc, etc. Yep, kids should be taught individuality and not to jump off a bridge just because their mates do but adhereing to a rule, from an early age, makes them respect authority rather than go against it.
-
Then why do most teenagers dress as outlandishly as possible outside of school hours?
-
Bounty, i bet if you ever have a daughter you will change your mind!
No, I just wouldn't fancy my own daughter. Just her friends.
-
That's fashion for you mate! I know that when I get home from work I like to dress nice or when I'm on a night out I like to dress to the nines. Fashion is subjective as you get older but in the case of kids or teenagers they bounce off each other as far as dress or any other possessions go. They are finding their footing in life and trying allsorts till they feel comfortable with it, and yes, it is like keeping up with the Joneses but as they get older these things become less important. I don't think that what they are wearing is all that outlandish. Fashions and attitudes change. Not only that, we are getting older and what was in when we were younger is old hat to the generations now.
-
I think school uniforms should be compulsary. It's a lot cheaper for parents to buy school uniforms than to have to fork out on tonnes of fashionable clothes so their kids can keep up with the kids who have everything.
