Actor Woody Harrelson has a new daughter, Makani Ravello. Do you like this name?

Makani looks like Manky at first glance and Ravello sounds like a cheap chocolate bar

Ravello reminds me of a shoe shop.

Yes, that too.

Or a cheap Italian restaurant with waiters who have hairy chests and medallions.

My mate Ginger? Do you mean Gerri Halliwell?

I think it's all got very silly and we should campaign for a return to sensible, pretty names for girls - Kim, Faye, Joanna and so on and nice, solid names for boys like Clive, Anthony and Gavin.

For some reason when I was a child I always wanted to be called Joanna.  (Something to do with Jo in Little Women I think - yes I know she was actually Josephine).

Not where I come from. My niece is called Kim but I did meet a nice Australian physiotherapist called Kim once. Ok nice isn't strong enough a word, he was drop dead shaggalicious. Unfortunately he was half my age but I did still fancy my chances .

I know two Kims - one male, one female.

Kim is rarely a man's name in the UK but as Lou says, in Australia it is far more common.

I didn't know that but funnily enough the male Kim that I do know happens to be Australian!

An 80 year old friend of mine has a ginger cat named Rooney.  Her grandson named him a couple of years ago.  I think Theo is rather a good name for a pet though.

Better than calling your dog Tyson.
