Could someone please help settle an argument. Is it fair to say that star bars are similar to an original boost but with peanut instead of coconut and maybe a little smaller? And are they both discontinued now or have I just not been shopping in the right places?
Ironically Biscuit Boost was launched after the peanut and coconut varieties.
According to my mother, who my dad used to buy a Starbar for every Friday, a Boost now tastes like a Starbar used to. Now Starbars have peanuts in, and so taste like Peanut Boosts. Peanut and Coconut Boosts died out in the earlier nineties.
Next you'll be telling us that a Flyte tastes like a Milky Way used to.
Nooooooo!

I thought I look for a Boost today as there is a timewarp mini independent supermarket on my way home. I found one with added glucose, looked at the ingredients and couldn't work out what it would taste like so chickened out. Are these any good? I opted for a new Terry's bar that was caramel and a two parter but can't remember the name.
It tastes the same as a standard Boost. I only tried the Guarana one once and it send me a bit daft.

Boosts were originally made in three flavours- Original (coconut), Biscuit and Peanut. The coconut ones were discontinued in the nineties and the peanut ones are now called 'Starbar' (they might be slightly different now though). They definitely still make Starbars because i had one last week

Not quite - Boosts were only originally made in Peanut and Coconut. Biscuit was a later addition (around 1989 if memory serves).
Boost = Biscuit Boost
Starbar = Peanut Boost

Nope. I think Boosts were originally only made in the coconut flavour and the other two were introduced around the same time as one another...when i said 'originally' i meant in the 1980s...
Did anyone else like the coconut ones? I thought they were very sweet but strangely addictive.....
Can you get normal biscuit boosts or do they all have added glucose? Why - why do that?!!!!
I used to buy coconut boosts from my school tuck shop! Those were the days....
Sorry but you're wrong! I distinctly remember the adverts for 'NEW Cadbury's Biscuit Boost' a few years after the original Peanut and Coconut varieties were introduced.
They must have been bought out one at a time then because i'm certain that the coconut one was out before the others...my mum used to be strangely addicted to them
Just found this-
