Post by: kevvosa on May 30, 2006, 08:04:15 pm

Agreed, it's gorgeous. I had heard it was being ditched though?

I think it has but there must still be a few bars floating around in cheap shops. It really is adictive I must say, so perhaps it's a good thing that it's gone.

I have had the low carb one which is .

I liked it - I wouldn't pay extra for it (which you normally have to for low carb) but I found it for 10p a bar in Farmfoods and it was fine.

Why is Nestle bringing out new bars only to ditch them after a year or even a few months? Are they not carrying out test marketing? Are they clutching at straws, looking for a market? Why don't they concentyrate on getting their exisiting products right? It's easy. Coat Toffee Crisp and Lion bars with Nestle Double Chocolate chocolate (if you follow me) and shove a few pence on the cost of a bar to cover the expense.

I agree - Double Cream and Double Choc show Nestle are actually capable of making decent chocolate.

I think the new products are dying a death because Chris White (their former CEO) has departed. He pushed hard for innovation, but Nestle are apparently looking at selling the confectionery end of the business altogether, so I imagine anything that hasn't been an instant hit is being ditched.

Whereas things like peanut butter Kitkats are inexplicably selling very well.

I agree with this, Ive always thought that Kitkats would taste a lot better with nicer chocolate coating them. And a double chocolate Aero? That would be heaven.
