Title: Funeral music
Post by: loulou on May 27, 2006, 03:54:39 pm

Smurfy got me thinking with the Neighbours themetune being used for someones funeral. What is the nicest or worst music you've heard at someones funeral?

Sorry if this depresses anyone and feel free to skip this thread.

I went to one when they played "Always look on the bright side of life."  I liked that.  And I've heard "Lord of the Dance"

Do you remember the story of the man who wanted 'Every Time We Say Goodbye' at his cremation - only the tape was in the wrong place and they played 'Smoke Gets In Your Eyes' instead?

Seriously, I would like Mozart's Clarinet Concerto and a hymn 'great is thy faithfulness'.

As my coffing rolls away, I want them to play Life On Mars by David Bowie.
