It turns out a study has revealed that Nottingham has four times as much crime as the safest cities. I'm not surprised, it's ful of oiks, chavs and Twokkers.

again! I sure there were 1st place last year!

Probably were

When I lived there it seemed like you couldn't go a week without hearing about a drive-by shooting.

What are the crime stats for it? and stats that have been compared to
other cities? It's interesting to hear exact numbers as opposed to just
having the general impression that one place is more dangerous than
another. I am surprised that london isn't the most dangerous
place?
-
I know what you mean, people think the south-west has less crime going on but actually Plymouth has one of the highest rates of drug possession in the UK!

Poole in Dorset came out of the poll as the second most safe place, with only 32.71 crimes per 100 population. The safest place is Southend.
-
Are we talking only serious crimes like murder, drug dealing and the like or any crime or any level?
-
The catagories included were:
Murder, rape, assault, robbery, burglary, vehicle crime and gun crime. Drugs offences are it seems not included in today's report.
Interestingly Plymouth came 38 out of 87. Birmingham is way safer at number 77.

Sounds very dubious to me. And I have a house in Poole!

Truro isn't even on the list so I guess that means there is no crime at all in Cornwall

Nothing worth stealing!

Apparently it's crimes per head of population, hence london fares relatively well.
-
Ok - thats definitely slightly less reassuring, but still no way could
the crime be as bad as down in SA. I know i sound like i'm giving my
country bad press, but unfortunately it is so prevalent that you can't
forget about it.

Peterborough did not do too well in this survey.
-
No, if I remember it's a bit of a Chav central.
-
if i may ask what are "oiks, chavs and Twokkers."?
-
Oiks are very lower class scruffy loking people with lots of tatoos, shellsuits and women who smoke while pushing their prams around. Chavs are people who dress in cheap jewellrey, wear burberry caps and say 'innit' alot. Chavs can also be people with a bit of money but bad taste. A person who plays golf in an Arsenal shirt is a Chav.
Twokkers are lowlife scum who steal cars. It's an acronym for Taking Without Owners Consent.
