Title: So I said, ’What’s that about then?’

Out birding this morning and guy was trying to get his doggy out of the lake.  'Colin, no bad dog, Colin come here!' 

'Excuse me', I asked, 'Did I hear you call your dog Colin?'

The man looked puzzled, 'Yes that's his name, why?' 

I just shrugged and walked off. Yes, there's a dog out there called Colin.  What's that about?

Later on a few hundred yards away I saw a sign in front of a big gravel pit and it read, and I quote, "Danger - Deep Cold Water"  get that, not just deep water but deep COLD water. As if some gravel pits are heated or something!  What's that about?

And so it's not uncommon to call your dog Colin .

It should be.  dogs should be called Rex and Fido not Colin.  Colin is the guy who mends the photocopier.

Rex and Fido are stupid names. My dog is called Oliver.
