Anyone got a recipe for a chocolate dish that is nice and cool?
Sticking a Flake et al in the fridge/freezer will NOT suffice!
-
Chocolate Mousse
- 8 (1-ounce) squares semisweet baking chocolate, coarsely chopped
- 1/2 cup water, divided use
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 3 large egg yolks
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 1/4 cups heavy cream, whipped
- In a microwave or double boiler, heat chocolate, 1/4 cup water and butter until the chocolate and butter are melted. Cool for 10 minutes.
- In a small heavy saucepan, whisk egg yolks, sugar and remaining water. Cook and stir over low heat until mixture reaches 160*F (70*C), about 1 to 2 minutes.
- Remove from the heat; whisk in chocolate mixture. Set saucepan in ice and stir until cooled, about 5 to 10 minutes.
- Fold in whipped cream. Spoon into dessert dishes.
- Refrigerate for 4 hours or overnight.
Makes 6 to 8 servings.

Oh Loulou those sound lovely - have you actually made them though?
-
Cheers Lou, I will need to try them.

I have not made these recipes myself but I have tasted them as my mam has made them for me. I sometimes take recipes for her to try and not only does it keep her busy but it means I have a fridge full of nice things. This week she is making me jam tarts, a quiche and a lemon meringue pie.

I don't like buying or eating chocolates outside in summer. They start melting quickly! I don't like that.
This is not the recipe, but I have some suggestions! Well, I think most people would like to have cold dessert in summer. so why don't you put chocolate sauce on the ice cream? Some chocolate sauce will freeze when you put on the cold food. You can buy them at the shops and this is so easy!
If you are in Japan, you can buy the chocolates that can put in the fridge and the taste doesn't change.
Do your countries have these type of chocolates!??

Sorbet (or sorbetto, sorbeto) is a frozen dessert made from iced fruit puree and other ingredients.
That ingredient is the one I couldn't find. I just love to be a pain in the arse. Sorry.
