Who likes the new look Dr Who?
-
Me. The first episode was very entertaining and funny too.
-
I'm not so sure. It's 'modern' so it fits better with culture today than the old style would have done. I'm less keen on Tennant than Ecclestone (he was so much better than I expected).
What really disappoints is that it's mostly 1 story per episode, it was always better when the stories built up and you had a bit of mystery that wasn't going to be solved in 30+minutes (yes I know the episodes are longer now, but even still...).
-
I have just one thing to say. Lips.
-
Choc Admin my husband has just been discussing that exact point! He likes a series of stories that build up rather than single-story episodes. Personally, apart from the Tardis and some old names from the past being thrown around, Dr Who now is unrecognisable to me.
-
I know what you mean, the old series was much better.
-
I can't be held responsible for how the Beeb choose to portray me. if anyone wants to join me in the Tardis for a spin, they'd be more than welcome. I agree with BH - Billy Piper does have BJ lips.
The Doc.
-
And a nice "rear bumper" as she said at the start of the series.
-
I used to like the nicely-spoken sensible girls in cardies that William Harnell used to recruit.
-
Who was that one with Tom Baker? Layla or something?
-
Leela, so my son tells me. That's when they started to get sexy.
-
Yes that's her. She was good.
-
She went on to be Rosa di Marco in Eastenders.
-
Did she? Wasn't she the mother of the gorgeous (and deranged) Joe? I never realised that - just shows how incredibly unobservant I am!
-
many of the mothers in eastEnders look improbably young to have sons of the age they claim to be and oh so many of those sons are deranged!
-
Nah, Lorraine Wicks was Joe's mother, and as Oldspice says, she was ridiculously young. She was about 29 and playing the mother of a 16 year-old (possible I know, but she was supposed to have been married when she had him!)
-
Senility is obviously getting the better of me again - of course, 'di Marco' being the clue, she was the mother of that Italian lot I'd totally forgotten about
. I am only an intermittent EastEnders viewer and that's my excuse.
-
peter davidson was the best. yay!
-
He was never in EastEnders!
-
Well he should have been cos I don't recall Eastenders ever having a vet before.
-
-
Now Ethel can't show him her little willy what would he do?
-
peter davidson was the best. yay!
Tom Baker IS Dr Who. Goodbyyeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
-
Now Ethel can't show him her little willy what would he do?
Pauline can show him Betty.
-

Oh I definitely agree - Tom Baker was best.
-
I think Betty is a stupid name for a dog.
The best Dr Who, in my opinion, was Jon Pertwee.
-
A bit of a mincer though.........
-
We have a genuine photograph of Jon Pertwee emerging from a Dalek that was taken when a science-fiction themed pub opened in Peterborough about ten or eleven years ago. Not longer after the photo was taken, Jon Pertwee sadly died.
-
I loved Jon Pertwee the most. He was good as Wurzel Gummidge too.
