Title: Christmas trees...........
Post by: loulou on September 25, 2004, 06:30:02 pm

Realised today that i threw my tree away last xmas so went to buy a new one today(as one does in september).  what's with blue xmas trees? i thought gold and silver ones weren't nice but a blue tree! So i got a green one.

Somehow i think i am going to get wrong for talking about xmas so soon

I've been tempted to do some Christmas shopping as there is some nice stuff in the shops. i actually did some of it last year in the sales - Lakeland had some wonderful china in their sale and so did Whittards.

Whittards tea varieties can be nice.

I am not familiar with Lakeland and Whittards.

They both sell wonderful household gadgets and kitchenware and also unusual eats and Whittards do coffee beans.

OK, I admit I bought a couple of things last weekend that I have put away as Christmas presents

They have some really nice paper and tags at the warehouse over the road. I've tried to resist as it's ridiculously early, but I gave in and bought a pack of tags.

I did buy one Christmas present in July, but that was in case I didn't see it again.

its NEVER too early to start christmas shopping  its one of my favorite past times lol

I kind of agree with it's never too early. If there are things in the
sale which are ideal, why wait? Christmas is expensive so if the cost
can be spread, I say go for it.

Every year for the past 18yrs my friend has had a blue Xmas tree. When it needs renewing I will always try to get her to buy green but she always goes for blue then decorates it blue and silver. She has blue wallpaper in every room, blue carpets, blue three piece and a blue kitchen. I don't have anything blue.

Hmm, think she has a blue fetish. I like green as it is traditional. I
wouldn't say no to a white christmas tree but no other colour.

When I was about 6 or 7 my parents had a silver tree that seemed to be made from aluminium foil. Please tell me we weren't the only ones to have one of these.

They were made of tinsel Loulou but I know what you mean!  Confession time here, I actually quite like a bit of tinsel on a Christmas tree even though it's considered totally naff.  I'd draw the line at an entire tree made out of it but I definitely saw some of them creeping into the shops last year.

Some people put them beads on the tree not tinsel
