Title: Growing old gracefully?
Post by: smurfboy on March 23, 2006, 11:29:47 pm
The other day on Countdown Carol was showing off a new set of hair extensions. She also had a very short, tight skirt on and low cut top. She's well into her forties - is she told old to be dressing up like this, or should she be congratulated for making the most of herself?

Well personally I think CV is a right slapper.

Speaking as a person 'well into my forties' myself, I wouldn't dream of wearing a short, tight skirt.  But low-cut tops - well they are my best feature!

CV is well sexy.  She's needs a good seeing to from behind.

I think Kirsty Young is probably the best looking bird on TV.

I have mixed feelings. CV has all the right equipment so it does not look so bad as if, say, Dawn French was doing the same. On the other hand, Dawn French is very pretty and I am sure to some men she is as sexy as CV.

Personally, being in my forties, I would never wear a very short skirt.

Low tops?Well, I'm with GC!

Hey, and by the way, this applies to men too! When they get over a certain age they shoud dress accordingly. There is nothin worse than a 35+ year old male chav, goth, teddyboy or whatever!

I think football shirts come into the same category.

I think men who were football shirts anywhere other than at the match should be shot in cold blood.

I think men who wear football shirts look right pillocks. Jewellery on  men is not a good look neither.

I wear pendants and stuff but would never wear chav-style thick gold chains and bracelets. And let's not forget the worst jewellery faux pas of all for men - the sovereign ring. Arrghh!

My favourite - fat men who wear tight T-shirts in the attempt to pass it off as 'all muscle'.

Do you think she was sad when Richard Whitely died? I heard she didn't cry - but that might have been because her face can no longer move...

I have noticed that some of my young male students are starting to wear diamond studded earrings. They are like big sparkly clusters. It looks really strange on a male who is obviously attempting to look macho.

Young women in football shirts look very sexy, particularly if they're wearing shorts

Well of course that's quite different!  I don't have an actual football shirt as in the strip but I do have a polo shirt and a Premiership Champions T shirt that I wear to the sports centre or dance class.

A woman can wear what she wants at any age as long as she avoids the mutton dressed as lamb look.

Bad "tie-dye" and clothes that look like your grandmothers curtains. Always a poor choice. Velvet or worse leather trousers.

But it is all down to PERSONAL "taste" and choice... Far be it from me to pass judgement or thinly veiled dig... eh?

Flicky hair on men is the worst or those who grow one long bit and wrap it round..

Agreed. Comb overs are not a good look.
