Here is the thread someone said he should have. So..... like him or hate him?

I don't particularly like him but I think what he's done for school dinners is good - and he works very hard.  But why did he have to call his kids those ridiculous names?

Despite his campaign for healthier school meals, which is admirable, he cares less for the environment and for children's safety. He and his wife are involved in a campaign in Camden, where they live, to be allowed to continue driving their children to an exclusive private school near their home. The council are not going to re-issue parking permits to these parents because they were parking dangerously, illegally and inconsiderately.

I don't mind watching his programme but he comes across as a right prat.

I think he has done a lot of good with the chances he gave unemployed kids at Fifteeen, and the work he has done improving school dinners. But christ he's annoying! I saw him on that school dinners progrfamme and he was whingeing about some kid who liked plain boiled pasta 'I mean, no butter, no olive oil...' Oh yes, of course unprivileged kids in Edinburgh are going to bbe drizzling olive oil like there's no tomorrow!

my mum bought one of his cookery books and it was just full of a lot of pretentious crap. Most of the ingredients were too expensive or stuff you'd rarely have in your house. I like Delia or Gary Rhodes - nice and straightforward!

You can go too far with the 'back to basics' though. My mum has a Delia book with a recipe for banoffee pie in it that says 'most people think banoffee is something exotic and complicated, but it's actually just a combination of banana and toffee'. Did anyone really need telling that?

And there was me thinking it was banana and coffee.

Jamie calls himself "The Naked Chef" because he reckons his recipes are straightforward and free from pretentiousness!
