Hi everyone, I've been lurking around here for ages and think this is a good enough reason to sign up!
Sorry if this is elsewhere and I've missed it! I heard today that cadbury are introducing creme egg bars! It was supposed to be launched in Londis stores on 10th April but a few people said to me today it has been seen in cash n carrys and will be in Tesco soon.
Having given up smoking 4 months ago I've become addicted to creme eggs, so this is probably the worst news ever for me!!
OOOOH - I can't wait
Only worry cos with cream eggs it's all about how you eat it, and it won't be the same with a bar
By the way - how do you eat yours? I bite off the top, stick my little finger in and eat all the fondant, then save the thick chocolately bottom bit of the egg till the end
Sounds all well and good but the only difference I can imagine is that that the chocolate will be slightly thicker than in cream eggs.
Is that possible? I thought that was all that was left of a Creme Egg nowadays.

10th April seems ridiculously late to launch an Easter-themed bar.
True. And the 'cream' is often hard and nasty.
That is sadly true, sometimes the cream is practically solid and very granular. Not nice. I like the cream to be of a pouring consistency, about the same consistency as clear honey. Mmmmm.

Oh, for f**k's sake!

I think the bar is a good idea, but I didn't realise Creme Eggs were actually condsidered inconvenient!
WOOLWORTHS HAVE CREME EGG BARS IN!!!!
i'd been hunting for them for ages, and finally found them yesterday in woolworths in durham, on a big promotional stand!
they're nice for people who like creme eggs, but, personally, i'd rather just have a creme egg. the chocolate to cream ratio is totally different, there being loads more chocolate in the bars, which sort of takes a lot of the creamy charm of creme eggs away. still though, a great idea, i don't know why it's taken this long for cadburys to come up with it!
Not in my Woolies
I've heard of "How do you eat yours?" but that is just disgusting!
These have finally landed in Woolies in Brum! I really enjoyed my first bar - the filling is just the right consistency; not too gooey, but not runny so that it dribbles down your chin. 8.5/10.
I did for the one I got CC in France. Then I folded it neatly 28 times.
Was it a big wrapper?
They are as tasteless as the eggs are now. I remember when the fondant had a vanilla taste.
BAH! Trust Cadbury to take over a British favourite,...err....and err.....turn it into something nasty! Just who do they think they are?
Give us back......err.....Cadbury.
I went out to get everyone at work a Creme Egg Bar yesterday but they had disappeared from the face of the earth. The lady in Woolworths said, "sold out" in a very bored tone when I asked her, so obviously I wasn't the only one. And I don't think they're tasteless - I loved the one I had! (Mind you it was the first chocolate I had had in months so perhaps even a Caramac would have tasted good).
Finally got a creme egg bar today. My mam found them in Asda.
Oh Loulou, did you like it?
They are a bit rare. Cadbury must have spent about 20p on the marketing and distribution.
In ten years time, people will come on the Forum and write 'I know I'm probably imagining it... but did Cadbury make a Creme Egg Bar?....'
I've put my last few on eBay.
You weren't much of a fan then Smurfy?
Anyone remember when CDM used to be 25p a bar!
I remember creme eggs being 4p!
Anyone remember when CDM used to be 25p a bar!
Yes! Actually it was more like 20p when I were a babby!
A small block of Dairy Milk was 6d when I was a nipper. That's two-and-a-half pence in 'new' money!
I also remember Creme Eggs being 4p and I still have a ticket for the London Palladium, best seats in the house, to see a big singing star of the time - price - £2!

Who did you go see? Al Jolson?
Cadburys are now saying there will be a shortage soon becasue they can't keep up with demand, they have been taking orders from retail chains and cash n carry's, but have said they may not be able to fulfil orders.
Does anyone remember this happening with Galaxy Caramel when it first came out? It was something to do with it being trialed only in Scotland but then supply dried up for months...........

Loved it so much that I've had one a day everyday since.
I do think they're a bit overpriced though.
No more than any other chocolate bar these days.
Shop at markets and pound shops then.
I don't want to see your wardrobe then!

I had 3 large Aero bars yesterday for a quid.

Oh Black Knight, don't be so silly. You know very well the pound shop doesn't sell wardrobes.
When I go to the market and its jumble sale day I see loads of people fingering through all the clothes on the stalls.
That's disgusting!!!!!!!!!!
Can't they just sell the clothes without playing with themselves?
Lou when you buy clothes, how do you know you're not getting something that someone with a skin complaint bought and took back?
I bought something from M & S recently that on examinination at home quite clearly had white deodorant marks. I took it back. (Sorry Lou!).
Well the thought never entered my head until you mentioned it. Thanks for that. Now not only do I have to deal with a phobia of used things I have to worry about new things too.
Just imagine someone trying on a pair of jeans that doesnt wear knickers![]()
I don't wear knickers.
Lou keeps a special pair of lead-lined extra-large knickers specially for trying on clothes in shops don't you Lou?
