Title: Ice Skating

I went ice skating for the first time on Sunday and it was all going very well. We had been on the ice for about 2 hours and I was even having a bit of a skate on my own! We was just about to leave and we all said we will have one last lap, that when it happened. I slipped and bashed my head on the ice. I have a gash on the side of my head and I spent an hour in A&E waiting to be seen too

aw poor u  hope ur not feeling too bad, i only ever went ice skating with my hubby once after he tripped, skated about 50ft cross legged before falling over and breaking 2 ribs with his own elbow !!!

I am ok, the side of my head aint looking too good though. I am seriously considering whether I will do it again.

if u enjoyed it up to the accident stick with it, i used to go a lot when i was younger and loved it, not sure i would be able to do it now though  think as i have aged my fear gene has kicked in lol

There were little ones on the ice and they looked like pros! Bless em.

CC I think you did really good to stay on your feet when it was your first time. Don't be put off going again. Hope your head isn't hurting too badly.

Aw, poor CC, what a thing to happen on your first time on the ice!  I used to love skating and would definitely go again but there is no ice rink near here anymore.  Me and all my friends used to go every Saturday night and do the speed skating, then we used to watch the ice hockey on Sundays. There are plans afoot for a new ice rink to be built though.

I'm looking forward to skating in New York in December.

Have a big bar of chocolate! It won't reduce swelling but it might ease the pain.

It was enjoyable.  A bit like eating a whole packet of Jaffa cakes in one go.
