Just tried this today. VERY nice!


I see thay also do a dark choc with raspberry.

the dark choc one with almonds in is lovely, almost as nice as the raspberry one.

Woolworths have a good selection of Cote d'or at the moment.

They closed loads of branches in the eighties, even some that were profitable. What they did was work out profit in relation to floor space - therefore the two huge stores they had in Birmingham were both closed (whereas a less rigid system would have closed just one). We've had Woolies back in the city centre for over ten years now, but on nowhere near the same scale.

We used to have a really massive one called 'Woolco' that sold furniture, washing machines etc etc as well as all the usual stuff.  Sadly it closed back in the 80's.

They tried that again with Big W - fantastic stores. Sadly they have gone too

Woolworth went down hill in the late 70s when they stopped looking like a USSR utility store and started to compete with trendier stores. They lost track of their market, diversified too much and ended up selling a pile of junk.


I remember buying biscuits loose in Woolies and selecting make up and stationery from little trays.

They had a truffle one but it was £2 something-f*** off! yikes
