Title: Blitz Bars
Post by: lovethenight on February 15, 2006, 06:19:57 pm

Does anyone remember Blitz Bars from the 80's or is it something my memory has made up? If I recall, there were 2 types - one chocolate with minty bits and one with orange bits (bit like the new-ish cadbury's bars with mint bits) They had a black foily wrapper with the word Blitz in green or orange that looked a bit like a neon sign.

Please help - I think I'm inventing things, as no-one believes me that these existed!!

You're almost right - said bars were called BITZ. They were exactly as you described until the early/mid nineties when they became chunky instead of flat. I'm not sure when they died out; this website still lists them as available, but I haven't seen one for many a year.

I seem to remember them very vaguely.

Aren't they more of a 'lunchbox bar'

Ah yes, Riva is/was a lunchbox bar. Bitz were very much a treat when I was a child...

Horray - thank you!!! Bitz bars! I'm not going mad! They were definitely a regular bar size, not a snack size.

I don't think I've seen them for years though....
