A matter of opinion.  I didn't name it, it's always been called it.

My apartment block is called The Orb. I love saying that, it sounds dead posh.

If you have a nice detached house with a bit of a drive and a porch then it's Ok to have a name. Or if you live in one of those Victorian or Edwardian terraces where all the houses were named it's fine. But if, like Vera and Jack on Corrie you have a little strip of a house with no front garden and you call it 'The Recory' - well that's just bloody silly.

My house is detached with a drive and a porch so that's okay then!  There is nothing to say what the house name is though and I never use it on my address.  It just appears on the deeds.
