Do you own/use any exercise apparatus? I have a airwalker, rowing machine, stepper and yes they are all dismantled and under the bed.
-
I have a mini trampoline but I only have time to use it at weekend. I also have a bike, if that counts, again which I ride at weekends. We have a fitness suite at work so I go there every weekday.
-
Does a bed count

I have 2 exercise DVD's
-
I have one of those stupid wheel things where you roll it forward and land flat on your face (interesting carpet burn). Also an exercise bike (dismantled in the loft) and several fitness videos, all watched once while eating chocolate. They didn't seem to work....

Cherry do you find that rebounder thing any good? I keep toying with the idea of buying one but feel it'll end up in the loft with the rest...
-
Well gc I find it fun ... you can follow a rebounding video (there is a variety available but only one I like) or you can just put music TV or whatever on and dance or bounce around on it. I never fail to smile when I am on it!
It does take up more room than you originally think and of course it doesn't fold so you need a place to put it where it is out of the way but close enough to use when you want it. I wouldn't recommend rebounding upstairs - in my house it makes the downstairs light fittings shake!!
-
I have a very basic set of weights that I used to use before I finally gave in and joined the gym. Not that I have bothered going much lately...
-
Couldn’t live without the step machine or exercise bike. Where would I hang the clothes?

Do you go swimming Smurfy?
-
Of course!
-
I do a lot of walking
-
In the summer I walk some lunchtimes instead of going to the gym, it's nice to get some fresh air!
Did anyone else see the story on the news this morning about the Finnish study which showed the benefits of OAPs playing in playgrounds? Just goes to prove the 'use it or lose it' theory.
-
I do think if you keep active as you get older you 'keep it' so to speak.
-
Absolutely, not just physically but mentally also.
-
Thanks Cherry, I couldn't think of the word

I have a neightbour who is 80 and she keeps mentally active and she is doing great
-
My grandparents are all in their eighties and are incredibly mentally active. I'm sure that's what the doctor said anyway... or was it 'disturbed'?
-

my nan and grandad are doing fine mentally.
-
Do they go to the playground often?
-
No but they go the the post office
-
and the library quite often
-
My Gran stays at home and does jigsaw puzzles all day.
-
My gran used to do all the daytime quizzes on TV. When she died in her nineties she was still perfect mentally and her hearing and vision were brilliant too.
-
My gran used to do all the daytime quizzes on TV.
My Gran does that too. And 'Take a Break' magazine, she has all kinds of crap she won off that!
-
Aww I think its sweet
-
My grandad is excellent at quizzes and crosswords etc. He has a great memory for facts and history and trivia - the only problem is he forgets what he's told us ten minutes ago!
They are talking about that playground thing on the radio and now I am dying to go on a roundabout...
-
The roundabout makes me feel sick. I like slides and seesaws.
-
Roundabouts make me feel sick as well.
I always had problems witht he see saw....I was an only child
-
That's OK get your Granny to sit on the other end CC!
-

-
Actually I was an only child until I was 10.
-
That was a long gap!
-
Indeed!
-
My aunt done that. She had David and Tony and then waited about 15 years and then had Louise and James!
-
I have cousins who are 15 years apart, they are both boys. They get on a lot better than me and my sister.
-
one of my cousins IS Vickly Pollard. She has the same Lonsdale pink zip up thing! At Christmas when she was over she said 'whenever I get any money I am straight down the argos aint I Susan'

-
My cousins both went to public school, they are more like Tim Nice But Dim!!!
-
theres none of that on my side of the family. Think I am the poshiest one.
-
They're not posh ... the younger of those two cousins works at the checkout in the local co-op
. Public education doesn't necessarily get you any further in life I don't think.
-
I always wanted to work in the co-op when I was little!
-
Oh, the lofty ambitions of childhood...
-
I always wanted to work at the Post Office because I wanted to stamp lots of stuff!
-
I know! I used to think it was a great job! I didn't even want to work in Tesco it had to be the Co-op!
-
My second choice would have been the butchers. Not because I particularly liked meat, I wanted to be skilled with a cleaver like that.
-
My husband told the careers officer he wanted to be a tramp or a pig farmer because both jobs allowed you to be smelly and dirty!
-
The roundabout makes me feel sick. I like slides and seesaws.

-
Lou that swing would make me sick too! Do you have a slide emoticon?
-
Can't seem to find a slide.
-
That looks fun
-
Can't seem to find a slide.
Off to the park with granny for a spot of waterskiing then!
