Seeing as we have so many committed eBayers on the forum, I thought it deserved its own thread. What have been your best bargains/biggest profits?
I sold a toy blimp I bought for £1 for £17, and a £1 Nicole Fahri jacket for £13. I also sold a £13 Stretchable Homer Simpson for £33.
-
DKNY Handbag brought for £28 sold for £51
Burberry Purse brought for £25 sold for £90
Samsung Phone Free (upgrade) sod for £165
-
Never bought or sold anything on ebay but I hear it's addictive.
-
Once you start you really can't stop! I try and stick to selling though now.
-
Its hugely addictive. I walk around th shops thinking I could get this for half the price on eBay.
Last week I brought River Island trousers for £8. They would have been a good £40 in the shops
-
Fancy a DKNY top for £4.90 Choccy?
-
Depends....what size is it?

-
Brought a Brand New With Tags Ted Baker caot for £112. Its £275 in the shops
-
Depends....what size is it?
10.
-
I got my daughter two lovely tops in a charity shop last week. I was in there looking for books and trinkets but saw the tops and they were beautiful so I bought them.
-
Depends....what size is it?
10.
Damn. Too big for me.
-
And me
-
Should I get some new stock in 6 or 8s?
-
Yes, with a 1 in front!
-
-
Not yet crossed the line and actually bought anything on e Bay yet. Always been a bit nervous that I'd be the on watchdog having been ripped off. Not sure I could cope with Nicky Campbell!
-
I can never tell the difference between Watchdog and Crimewatch
-
Ive been buying a lot of cheap rare horror films on there recently. The only drawback with ebay is that you have to wait close until when the bidding ends to make sure you get your item. And often with the postage costs on top, it doesnt work out as that much cheaper than buying in shops.
-
Plenty of bargains to be had at car boot sales. On summer Sundays we go way out into the countryside to village or school bootsales where you get no traders but just genuine bargains.
-
School ones are always good - as you say, you tend to get more genuine sellers there. I used to get some brilliant bargains for the boys when they were younger. Probably my best were Star Wars toys before the prices really took off - a Millennium Falcon (boxed) for a pound and the rare Yakface figure for 20p!
-
Wow!
My husband has bought rare LPs from boot sales and charity shops and I have bought some nice china pieces and other bits - all worth much more than I paid.

I kind of disagree. If you shop wisely you can get fantastic bargains. I get all my shirts for work on there, they are all Next and sell for between £2 and £6. Thats including postage. They would retail for between £14.99 and £30 in the shops.
-
I buy stuff on eBay because of the variety of things available.
The item from eBay which has given me the most enjoyment was last summer when I was replacing all my old cassette tapes and I got all the 'Now' albums in mp3 format for a fiver (strictly for back-up purposes of course).
Have never sold anything on eBay.
-
Once you start Cherry its addictive. You end up looking through your wardrobe for things to sell.
-
Nobody would want my cast-offs, they go in the recycling bag.
-
If I think its not good enough for eBay I give it to charity.
-
Me too
You would be surprised at what people will pay if they like an item. I sold a shirt for £11 and it was only from Topman.
When oh when is 5p listing day coming around again? I have loads to put on and am getting impatient!
-
5p listing day is a nightmare. It makes it too busy and slows down.
-
And then there is a huge amount of new things. I tend to not list on 5p listing day as there is too much competition!
-
Very very true
-
Good points all of them - but on the other hand, I am a cheapskate
Choccy Chick I am going to sell some rare chocolate and/or wrappers if you are interested.
-
Well i didn't want to be cheeky but i was thinking you were being cheap smurfy.
-
You have wrappers?
-
I do...
-
Which ones?
-
Yeah which ones? And why aren't you donated them to my cause

-
Mainly American or other foreign ones. I would donate them but by selling them I can support a charity very close to my heart.
-
I will have a look. Have you listed them yet? And was it me who gave you the inspiration?
-
Partly you, and partly seeing someone could sell an old Snickers for £5! I will send you a link when I've listed them.
-
Someone once sold a bag of old wrappers for about £150. His gran had saved them from years ago, she dies and he found them in the attic.
-
My gran actually has some Christmas tree chocolate decorations from the 60s! She was too cheap to buy new ones each year
-
Bless her
-
My Gran has old tree decorations which are really nice, particularly the glass ones.
-
My nan has a very small optical tree now.
-
Mine just drapes tinsel round her spider plant!

My nan has a very small optical tree now.
When I was little my Grandparents had one of these fibre lamps
Problem was, you only had to look at it / walk past it / breathe and that was enough for bits to come off and get embedded in your feet, fingers or anywhere. Even years after they got rid of the lamp they still found bits in the carpet. Evil things those lamps!
-
. Thats a bit like my nans tree. It was only about 15 inches high and it changes colour
-
Yay! 1p gallery day on Thursday!
-
-

I may have a list
-
I will be blitzing the place on Thursday!
-
What you selling?
-
Loads of clothes including some brand new, maybe some DVDs, my old mobile, a light fitting, some toys from work, and any other bits n bobs I think might sell.
-
Steal some stuff from work.
-
-
Ah don't look shocked. He probably already has
-
I wouldn't do that!
Anything worth nicking is in the warehouse which I don't have the door code for
-
Rummage through your bosses drawer while they are out to lunch
-
We have already nicked anything decent horrible boss woman left behind!
-
You speak of her with such affection
-
It's hard to speak with affection whilst dancing on a grave.
-
Far better to dance on a grave than pee on it.
