Title: What shall I have for tea?
Post by: smurfboy on January 16, 2006, 11:35:37 am
I could have roasted veg casserole with quinoa, or a cheese, onion and chickpea burger with mashed veg. Or I could make a casserole if I can be arsed to buy any tinned tomatoes. So much choice...

I would go for the casserole: warming and filling.

I have definitely had healthier lunches at work since I started using our microwave instead of buying food from the refectory.

If I'm stuck for a filling, delicious but quick fix meal I go for beans on toast.

Well, I decided on casserole. I'm making it as we speak.

Well I had seafood pasta tonight so that wouldn't have been any good to you Smurfy.  At work we do have a microwave so I'm living on homemade veg soup plus a pitta bread every day at the moment.

I have a problem this evening as I have to go to a meeting after work which involves a buffet.  I will be hungry and extremely tempted by all the goodies on offer.  As there's a gap between finishing work and going to this meeting when I will pop home, should I have a quick something like beans on toast to ward off the hunger pangs or should I try and resist all food at the buffet and have a proper meal when I get home?  Decisions, decisions....

I do think you should have something before the buffet. It will definately ward off the temptations.

Thanks CC, I think you're right.  That's what I shall do.  Then I can airily waive away the temptations on offer, saying, "I couldn't possibly, I've already eaten."  Please God give me willpower.

At the buffet you can be one of those who just picks up a few cherry tomatoes!

You will wake up tomorrow feeling glad you didn't pig out on the buffet.

I'll let you know tomorrow how it went.  I've lost six pounds now and am feeling quite determined.  One more pound and I'll be a quarter of the way to my target!

A triumph!  I had a snack before I went and at the buffet I ate - fanfare of trumpets please - two cashew nuts!  That was it!

Thank you!  Yes I did, especially when I found I'd lost another pound! Yes I know you're not supposed to weigh yourself every day but I can't help it.
