Title: Easter has never been the same...
Post by: oldspice on January 15, 2006, 05:27:12 pm

Since they got rid of Toffee and Mallow eggs. Of course, Toffee & Mallow were made by Rowntrees who were taken over by Nestle, who never kept a decent bar or chocolate product on sale and adulterated or delisted the rest.

i miss the mint fondant filled eggs too. Cadburys?

I just did a Google on Mackintosh's toffee eggs (different from toffee and mallow but both were gorgeous).  The only hits I got were mine, complaining about missing them!  Surely I can't be the only person in the world that remembers them?  They usually came in a long box which was supposed to be like a train, with an egg in each window.  Or did you say you remembered them Oldspice?  Please?

Now you've described them they might just ring a bell. Mackintosh's products were wonderful. They did the original Caramac and that was so goooooooooddddddddd. Now it's like sugar-laden floor polish.
