Title: Hair Curling Injury!
Post by: chocolate chick on January 11, 2006, 09:19:28 am
I have managed to burn my neck in 2 places whilst making my hair curly with my Remington Hot Curls. One has blistered and the other has just left a red mark

Owch  sounds painful.

Funny we always want what we don't have ... my hair is naturally curly and I straighten my hair sometimes with GHD straighteners, they are damn hot too.

My hair is wavy. So its not straight but its not ringlets. When I use the curlers its goes into lovely curls which start almost from the roots. I haven't burnt myself on my straighteners yet but I am going to be very careful with the curlers from now on!

My mom once decided to curl her hair in the office as she was going out straight from work. Hearing the boss coming, she quickly shoved her tongs in the drawer. She chatted away to the boss normally, wondering why he was looking at her like she was barmy... then realised one side of her hair was in tight curls, while the other was still poker straight.

I burnt my ear on  my straighteners once and it blistered so bad, then went very dry and tight.

Knowing my mom she could well have done! How she ever held a job down I don't know. She broke a computer keyboard by eating a doughnut over it and getting big gobs of jam in it, and she once put a thermometer on the window sill to chill it, and make the boss think it was too cold to work - of course it not only rolled off the window sill and smashed, but he was just arriving at the time it fell onto the pavement!
