Title: Twelfth night
Post by: smurfboy on January 07, 2006, 02:11:41 pm
Did anyone else find it depressing taking the tree down? The last remnant of Christmas gone. Now it's just cold and dark. I hate January!

No, I'm always glad to get rid of the thing and get back to normal.  Besides, there's my birthday to look forward to!

I always take down my tree and decorations on New Year's Day. I find it depressing to have decorations up after going back to work in the New Year. At the moment, when I leave for work at 7.45am, it is still dark. When I return (anytime between 4.30pm and 9.00pm) it is still dark. I hate January too.

I did feel sad taking my tree down and I would have liked to leave it up until Easter

A friend of mine goes almost as mad at Easter as she does at Christmas.  Her family all have Easter presents and cards (as well as Easter eggs of course) and she has Easter mugs and tea towels etc that she puts out.  Then they have a big Easter Dinner with an Easter cake and everybody has a new outfit!

Me too, and I usually get that a couple of days afterwards when they're half price!  I had to try very hard to keep a straight face when she was telling me all this.

She also does a special dinner for St George's Day!

Now why should chocoboo particularly mention the Easter Bunny? Guess who used to be the Easter Bunny?
