Title: Resolutions - any interesting ones?
Post by: goldencup on January 01, 2006, 10:13:29 am

Come on then, what are everybody's New Year Resolutions?  Just the usual ones of losing weight, getting fit etc or my old standby of resolving not to make any resolutions?

For the record, I intend to lost two stone by May and am taking up three new exercise classes.  I'm also going to spend less time on the Internet and become a bit more 'girly'.  I may even carry a handbag!  Watch this space.....

First was the reverse park, second was reverse round a corner and the 3rd was the hill start (forgot to put the car in gear!!) and the reverse park.

Bright pink. My sister (who is training to be a car mechanic) works with the company who customised the car. It is not entirely dissimilar to this one: http://www.jon44w.com/site3/viewthread.php?tid=907

I think of cars as male so I am happy with my blue car. He is a bit of a troublesome teenager but not so bad that I want to get rid of him.

I don't know if I will get my own car or just share David's. I won't use it for work cos I get the train.

I used to only use my car at weekends and the battery goes flat often if you don't use it much, particularly if it's just short journeys. I don't have a battery problem now as I use my car every day.

I will have to weigh up the pro's and con's of having my own car. Me and David spend most of our time together anyway, and its an expensive toy as we are saving up for a place as well.

I used to know someone who had a white Mini with a hot pink roof.  At the time I thought it was hideous but I might warm to the idea now.

You're absolutely right there Lou.  A year ago I wouldn't have been seen dead in pink - now I even have a hot pink cello case!

Imagine if you could get a pink cello. Instruments would look good in bright colours. I would like a pink violin.

Yuk! Everyone had to play the recorder when I was at school. Once a week each class took it in turns to play the recorder in assembly. Those terrible, screechy school recorders, always played badly, could put you off playing an instrument for life. All classes ever played was London's Burning or Polly put the kettle on.

The recorder sounds wonderful when played by someone really good but excruciating played out of tune by a group of year 2's.

I used to play the recorder when I was at School

I was in recorder club at school too. I had a wooden recorder but most other peoples' were brown plastic. London's Burning and Three Blind Mice - I definitely remember playing those tunes a lot...

I remember someone knocking my front tooth out when they banged into me playing the recorder at lunchtime recorder club. I think I was about 4 years old!

That's a nightmare, because your adult teeth don't come in for years. I knocked both my front teeth out as a five year-old and was stuck with a gap for four years.

For some reason when you knock them out, the new ones come through even later.  That's what my dentist said anyone.  My son had his missing for years.

Never grew. My baby teeth fell out and the adult ones never came through. My 2 front teeth at the bottom, both molars and 1 canine is missing. My dentist has done a great job though. My teeth are perfect.
