Did anyone get anything good? I thought they were a waste of time. i did get some nice table linen for next Christmas from John Lewis but nothing much else. I'm waiting for the weekend. I am sure things will be cheaper then.
-
I thought they were a waste of time too. The only things I bought (and this is a bit sad) were Christmas cards and wrapping paper!
-
I usually buy next year's cards in the sales but I have decided not to send cards next year. I'm going to buy a goat for a family in the Third World instead.
-
My colleague did that for all her presents this year - they had goats and toilets from Oxfam!
-
I got stuck in snow and traffic and turned round and went home to finish my stuffing.
-
I think now that the sales tend to start before Xmas is over it isn't the same anymore...... usually can't really be too bothered with them too much myself. Although we did have a lillte saunter out to the shops today.
-
The shops are full of rubbish so I got nothing in the sales.
-
Some people queued outside Next from 3am! I hardly ever go in there because they never have my size so I do wonder what makes them so special!
-
I can't believe people queued to go to bloody Next! I know they have good reductions, but I'm not that desperate for a half-price polo neck!
Having said that, I found a jumper I really wanted in Debenhams for £15 instead of £30 - and when I had got to the till it had gone down to £9!
Lou - My shoes are down to £55 - I'm off to Schuh...b
-
Good for you smurfy. Let me know when you have them.
I seen big queues at Next but nothing in there interests me. Debenhams sales are usually quite good .
I bought my mam a Tassimo chocolate/tea/coffee maker for Chrimbo so I am going to see if Currys/comet/Argos have them in the sale as I would like one for myself.
-
Got 'em! Plus a new jumper, a new shirt, new pair of jeans, two new tops and some new pulling pants - good day today!
Debenhams is very good at the mo Lou.
-
We don't have a Debenhams here. Only a BHS
. You won't believe the rubbish they sell in there. More like a third world rummage sale. We have a M&S but people go insane in their sales so I didn't venture in.
-
Smurfy you did well at the sales and I am very pleased you finally got them shoes.
-
I don't really bother with the sales (a lot of the time the mark downs are so small its not worth the scrum to find a so called bargain).
Did buy a new router for home though today, PC world on-line offer for 40quid including a notebook wireless card (that i have no need of) it's a very good spec. for the price and I picked it up in store to save the 4quid postage (and noticed the in store price is 80quid).
anyone want a wireless pcmcia card going cheap?
-
I got some towels in the sales at House of Fraser, all half price. Some gorgeous underwear from Ann Summers. Some Christmas Cards and tags.
David got a chunky cardigan and a jumper, both over half price in River Island.
I don't go mad for the Next sale anymore as I get Next stuff from eBay!
-
I got a new pink vanity case, pink book light and set of Evening Primrose Oil toiletries (toiletries for my mum's birthday present) all half their original price in Boots and bought them all with my points so to me they were excellent bargains
-
I haven't really checked out the Boots sale. The times I have been to the sales David has been with me too and he gets a glazed over look on his face!
I brought myself some Remington Big Curls curling set.
-
I ruined my new River Island jumper because I didn't realise it was handwash
-

They have some lovely jumpers in the sale at River Island.
-
Boots sales are quite good with the gift sets as they gradually reduce them more and more. Last year I got some brilliant bargains in about February when they eventually marked things down from around £20 to £2. I must confess to buying quite a few birthday presents. I work almost opposite Boots so I'm keeping my beady eye on proceedings!
-
We all do it GC! I got some nice bits for myself in the Boots sale last year. I was going to go shopping today but I wore silly shoes yesterday and now have blisters and walking is a problem!

-
There is a Next right by the trainstation so thats a possiblity, I mean I am walking past it. It would be ruse not to, see a gorgeous jumper of shirt combo in there yesterday.
-
My new Spring / Summer Next catalogue arrived yesterday. So short sleeves and sandals are not too far off now...
-
Mine came this week too and I want too much from it again.
-
Got mine last week and I also want to raid it. Don't need any clothes again ever because I have silly amounts, but I have spotted some new cushions for my lounge.
-
what colour are they?
-
They are black and white in a Russian wallpaper design.
-
Everyone will be looking in their Next catalogues now to see
-
They have some good shoes this year. I was disappointed with the range of shoes in last year's catalogue.
-
I like the look of some of the bags. I'm a bag freak, have them in every colour imaginable.

Lovely

Lou, do you have the one with the bunnies from last year's Next catalogue?
-
I have to admit, I am a Next eBay junkie. I know the clothes are brand new but they are so much cheaper!
-
No cherry I haven't got the bunny bag
-
I got a nice turquoise colour bag from my Gran for Christmas. The bunny Next bag was really cute but I couldn't justify buying it as it looked too small for my stuff and it wasn't the right colours to go with any of my clothes.
-
Perhaps I am too old for a bunny bag
-
Today I bought the pink suitcase I've had my eye on - Pierre Cardin, half price - bargain!
-
Excellent and do you have a pink passport cover too?
-
Oh God, yes I do!
-
and a pink purse?
-
No, I haven't got a pink purse.
-
you will need one and a pink umbrella
-
No I don't do umbrellas. They just annoy me. Mindyou I used to say that about handbags....
-
you don't want your hair to get wet and your mascara to run do you?
-
I just put my hood up!
-
oh yeah very glam.lol
-
Or put my rainmate on
-
-
is it pink?
-
I promise I haven't got a rainmate, pink or otherwise!
-
Just wrap cling film round your head - it's cheaper.
-
yes and much more fashionable
-
Very 2006.
-
As seen in Heat magazine and The Clothes Show
-
You saw it here first!
-
An exclusive
-
Do you remember those plastic rain hoods that used to fold up and you tied them under you chin? They looked so glam!
-
they still sell them in hairdressers.lol
-
Wasn't that where we started - rainmates?
-
-
Excellent and do you have a pink passport cover too?
I have one of those, David has a blue one!
-
and a pink purse?
I have one of those too! Its a Paul Smith one I love getting it out of my bag when I pay at the till!
-
Excellent and do you have a pink passport cover too?

Same here CC, we have pink and blue passport covers!
-
No, I haven't got a pink purse.
I have seen a purse with cherry print lining in the Next catalogue which I quite fancy
-
I am just hoping the purse doesn't get too dirty!
-
Is it bright pink or pale, CC?
-
Its pale pink with the paul smith stripe round the edge. Its a gorgeous soft leather as well.
-
Cool
I forgot to say I got a little Maglite torch for Christmas, it's metallic pink and is now attached to my car keyring. I use it to be able to see the keyhole or the carpark charges on the machine when it's dark.
-
Last Christmas I got a pink Swiss Card. Its got all the Swiss Knife bits on it but it's little card. Comes in handy!
