Title: What are they called?
Post by: chocolatenovice on December 12, 2005, 01:47:58 pm

Hi

I'm trying to remember the name of some chocolates I've had before but am at a loss.

They're sort of disc shaped and come in a tube (possibly hexagonal), are chocolate on the outside and fruit jelly in the middle.

Can anyone help?

Thanks

Would you be referring to Droste chocolates? They're the only chocolate discs I know of that come in a hexagonal tube. I don't know if they come with fruit jelly, but there are an assload of varieties.

Droste is Dutch chocolate - it's not available at Ikea. It's Marabou you get at Ikea and they don't have jelly middles Droste doesn't have the jelly in the middle either.

There is a German company who make the jelly in the middle chocolates but I don't remember their name ... I can check at home though as I think I still have some tropical fruit flavour ones left from my German holiday.

In case anyone is interested, the best place to get Droste is the supermarket at Brussels Midi train station (near the Eurostar terminal) they have all the flavours and are quite cheap.
