On the radio just now, they said Public Sector workers like teachers and nurses can currently retire at 60.
News to me! As a qualified Advanced Skills Teacher working in the Further and Higher Education sector, my retirement date has been set as my 65th birthday. School teachers on the other hand, who get more holidays than us, can currently retire at 60.
I don't mind though, I'll never make it to 65 at this rate. I'm half dead now.

60? 65? Sounds great! Thanks to the criminal mis management and mis appropriation of public funds by this government i will be working till the day i die. Unless maybe one of my daughters marries an immigrant or ethnic "minority" to entitle her to some benefits that they may look after their old man with.
Next Xmas cracker joke i hear is "More powers for Mayor of London" I nearly laughed at that one. Then i cried.

What does it matter at what age you retire? If you're happy working, then hey ho! is what I say. I would like to go and live with my girlfriend in The Isles of Scilly now and I'm 40, but I can't.
Lemoneye, forget pensions. Buy a load of shares in Whitbread and Halifax and pocket the dividends four times a year.

the main reson of public sector wokrer getting to retire at 60 (please not ALL RETIREMENT AGE WIL BE 65 at 2015! )is because those peopel have a much Harder time at work liek nurse adn teachers, police Fire bardgre, so ther going to be at wit ends, unlike those Big posh job like bankres & hair dress whih chave and easy life yuo can eays work for an extre 5 years!

There should be equality for all. Everyone should have the same retirement age. If they want to retire early they can, but on a reduced pension. if they want to carry on, so be it but everyone, from lorry drivers to doctors should be able to retire at an agreed age.

Lower the retirement age to 55 for everyone so people can enjoy their lives.
Then free television licence and public travel to everyone over 65.
