Hi there
I am really hoping someone can help me. I have a HUGE bet with a colleague at work that I can find a wispa bar, now, i know they have been discontinued but come on. There must be some derelict snack machine in the wilds of the british countryside that still has some stacked away.
I would really appreciate it, if there is anyone who has any stashed away could contact me (I will pay!! the bet is that important!) or know of some where i get some from.........
I loved them, the new re branding does just not cut the biscuit.
email me at [email protected]
Thanks.....please help!!
Your main problem will be finding a food vending machine in a the British countryside. These machines are nearly always in offices and canteens and require some form of electricity.
Incidentally, are you 'THE' Tessa Sanderson of women's javelin fame? If this is you below then it is.
hahahahahahahahahahahhahaha
and there was Bounty almost technically correct!
Did he actually look up her picture!?
Awwwh, bless.
As for the WISPA bars Tessa, I haven't seen one in ages, sorry (wish I had). They have them online at;
http://www.wisechoiceuk.com/details.asp?prodid=200333&ca t=3&path=
- the picture shows a wispa bar, but they're named as Cadbury Bubbly. Haven't seen any Cadbury Bubbly around either for that matter.
Does anyone know when Wispa dropped out of circulation?
My claim to fame is being one of the first people to ever taste a Wispa. A family friend workedat Cadbury and brought some samples round. It was a sad day when Wispa went - especially the Gold and Mint versions
Anyway, as for this Wispa hunt, try cheapo shops; I'll wager a few of them bought in some excess stock at the time of it being discontinued and may still be selling it, or even have imported stock.
my quest continues then......
Just a few points to clear up that seem to have got mixed up in this hunt for a wispa
1. I am not Tessa Sanderson. I know this because i am not black, or a very good javelin thrower (hmm, i always prefered the discus)
2. I didn't like the sarcastic tone re: the vending machine.
3. The British chocolate bar situ is really going downhill. Surely there is some underground market dealing in ex chocolate bars (the only downside is that they will probably be really mouldy!)
Rant over, and i shall continue my quest
If you find any of these underground dealers, can you get me a Fry's Five Centre and a Milk Tray Bar? That really would be mouldy...
The so called sarcastic tone was pure wit.
The lowest form of it too.
Success!!!
Tessa, I have found you a Wispa - but not as we know it...
At the Bullring Markets in Brum a stall was selling Cadbury's Wispa bars. They were in a light blue wrapper and had Arabic, or possibly Greek, writing on them. The really interesting bit though is the chocolate itself. It's not like a traditional Wispa, but is split into chunks; the texture is like CDM Bubbly, but the bar is thicker and chunkier. And the biggest shock of all? It's DARK chocolate!
I don't know what the terms of your bet are, but this is a Cadbury's Wispa, on sale in the UK - are you interested?
I will keep a lookout in my local cheap shops for them! Im sure I saw one not long ago. DM Bubbly is also being sold in cheap shops.
"Even better than that, dear..........4 satsumas, a bicycle repair kit, 2 Algerian second class stamps, a hub cap for a "63" Anglia and a copy of centre-parting weekly"
*God bless The Fast Show*
It was the outdoor bit - the chap was selling all kinds of chocolate in big baskets (Ashburys etc.) and I think crisps too. Fairly close to the entrance to the indoor market if memory serves.
Good luck with the HND; I wish my degree had required me to buy choc!
