Title: Ritter Sport
Post by: nickyw on October 24, 2005, 04:51:03 pm
I went to London on Saturday and found my first ever Ritter Sport
Cappuchino bar. It was absolutely GORGEOUS! I haven't seen them
anywhere else, so does anyone know where I can get them from outside of
London?

Rittersport is becoming more avaliable in the country. Cornor shops are
good places to try. The Marizpan one is gorgeous but the Amaretto one
is out of this world

The Rum, Raisin and Hazlenut is my fave.  I haven't seen this for some time, even though it is still listed on the Ritter website.  Makro generally sell Ritter Sport if that's any help.  I once tried the cappucino variety and found it to be one hell of an aphrodisiac - not sure what they put in it! ;)

they're selling rittersport peppermint and whole hazelnuts in my local tescos. It's one of the 24 hour ones, so if you have one of those close to you then they could possibly stock it too.

cleverdick is it only the cappucino ritter sport you find an aphrodisiac or anything coffee flavoured?

A good question!

I only remember this particular Ritter Sport having such an effect - it was a few years ago so may not have been the Cappucino variety per se, but I'm sure it was coffee flavoured and definitely two-tone, i.e. dark choc base and milk choc on the top.  I have a feeling the wrapper was dark brown.  But I don't 'get off' on coffee as a rule... ;)

It might have been the Mocha version actually...

Not sure if it's still available.

The cappuccino wrapper is a tan colour, so I don't think it was the
cappuccino one. I don't remember a mocha version so it could have been
that one.

I think "Ritter Sport" is the best chocolate from Germany.

It certainly is nice. The marzipan one is very nice, as was the limited amaretto one.

10 years ago I remember there was a "Ritter Sport White Raisins". This was one of the best chocolates in my whole life. It's really a tragedy that it's not available anymore. But this Ritter Sport White Raisins lives on in my chocolate dreams forever ...

Raisins in choc are good but I don't like white choc.

Usually me either, but this white choc was different. And with those raisins it was a wonderful combination.

German Lindt is much better

Although Whtite Ritter Sport with hole nuss and Cappuccino one are really good.

Isn't Lindt Swiss? I know they have a branch in Germany, but I though
they are original from Switzerland. Lindt and Sprüngli.

German Lindt is also original , and I think, in german factories they make better Lindt's chocolates than in Swiss or Italy for example. But Lindt in France is also very good.

When I was a child the corner shop sold Ritter Sport in two sizes, a big bar (like you can still get) for 42p and a half-size small bar for 21p.  Marzipan was my fave, and there was a white chocolate one with crispy bits in I think?

Can you still get the multipack of lots of tiny 4-square segments?

Do you think about these?

In Germany and Austria you can buy them in every market.
