Title: Rolo Irish Cream
Post by: on October 28, 2004, 07:39:56 pm

Catch your attention?

Obtained these today.

White packet with Red rolo sign and "Irish cram" after it.

Essentially white chocolate with an "Irish cream" toffee filling.

I am assured by those who should know that they taste fairly realistic.

Don't love the choc, or the filling, so 3/10.

Also bought White choc Smarties. NEW?

They were certainly in the "new" bin in the shop.

White choc Smarties??! YAY!

I had heard rumours of these being out a while ago, so perhaps they are
a re-release. I do like white chocolate, but Irish Cream? Yuk I hate
chocolates filled with alcohol (dont know why, just do). Why spoil what
could have been a delicious product in this way? (Ie normal Rolo with
white chocolate).

It says that Nestle have a White Christmas campaign, including Rolo
irish cream, white smarties, white kit kat and milkybar snowfall - ooh

The white chocolate Smarties have 3 colours. Red, white and green.

The Rolos are quite like Baileys.

White Chocolate Smarties? Yum! I just know this diet is doomed to failure as soon as they jump out at me in the shop, saying 'Buy me buy me'.  I shall just have to avoid the chocolate aisle.

I had a chance to buy the white rolr irish-creams today, but I declined.

I love the idea of Irish cream chocolate (Baileys fan), but I'm not sure if a combination with the white chocolate would make it just too sickly.

I tried these last night and am already addicted!  I found them at my local shop and as I haven't seen them elsewhere I bought my mother a pack too, but I won't be seeing her until next week and I'm not sure they'll survive...

Okay...tried them today;

they're quite nice. I think I'd love them if they were milk rather than white chocolate. I'm a bit fussy when it comes to white chocolate!

On the whole, pretty good though....

I still can't find them. I asked in Tesco and the assistant looked at me as if I was making it up.

No great surprise given that most staff in Tesco stare at £2 coins as if they are foreign - they've only been in circulation for seven years...

While I am complaining about shop staff can I add Greggs to my list. Why is it I go to buy pies and sausage rolls and the assistant says "be careful, they are hot"then looks at me stupidly when I ask for a carrier bag? Is it all to do with profit share and their xmas bonus?

I thought shop assistants were there to help...think times are changing!

My pet hate is shops that are supposed to shut at 5.30 (or whatever), but have a grid pulled halfway down at 5.05 so you have to limbo-dance to get in!

They obviously feel you are not doing your bit to help the environment. Take your own plastic carrier bag with you.

I ate a packet of these and felt really sick afterwards! They're way
too sickly. They should be dark brown chocolate instead of white.

I dont agree. The white choc inhances the Irish Cream flavour. Dark would ruin it. Milk would be ok though.

No - the white chocolate makes them far too sweet. Besides you can barely taste the Irish Cream flavour anyway.

I have only seen them in my local shop. I think little shops must get commissions to put new chocolate by the counter and attract all the impulse buyers.

Agreed. The white smarties are GORGEOUS. Milkybar Munchies are also very delicious. Cadbury Dream somehow just doesn't cut it.

My local Spar has its very own Nestle product bin towards the back of the store  That said it also has a Cadbury one which is closer to the front of the store.
