gotta say, ive loved th Frijj shakes since they started back in the mid 90's. perfection. a few years back they released the Frijj-Extreme flavours... they were pricier, THICKER BY DOUBLE and had seriously evil flavours: double-choc (which you literally had to chew!) and White Choc - WHICH WAS TRULY AMAZING! it was like swallowing pure cream and tasted like heaven.... then, they sort of vanished for a while..
imagine my delight yesterday when they turned up in the new Morrisons store down the road forom me. yay! i bought 2 of the White Chocs and prepared for something close to orgasmic pleasure... BUT OH DEAR. they were very different indeed.
has anyone else noticed this? it seems the White Choc Frijj's are a mere shadow of their former selves. what once was pure, creamy milky-bar in a bottle, is now resembling a stale vanilla McDonalds shake! i gotta say - im heartbroken. and everyone ive spoken to dioesnt seem to understand or remember...
PLEASE - IS THERE ANY1 OUT THERE WHO'S NOTICED THIS? I NEED TO KNOW I'M NOT IMAGINING THINGS!!!!!!
-
I don't like thick gluppy shakes. Sorry can't help here as I never drink Frijjis. My kids do though.
-
Yes my son had pointed this out to me! I'm a fan of the Chocolate Brownie ones myself.
-
I have not had a Frijj shake in years. I always used to get the banana one.

-
I always thought Frijj tasted plasticy.
-
Its not the best. Try M&S Banana Milkshake. That is something
special. Its lovely and quick and really tasty. I have only tried the
banana one so far.
Tesco Finest Strawberry and Yogurt milkshake is also rather good
-
The banana, strawberry and choc flavours are the WORST Frijj flavours.
Choc brownie and white chocolate however are HEAVEN. I havent noticed
any change. Im always buying 2 white choc flavours, or one white choc
and one choc brownie when they are on BOGOF at Morrisons (they seem to
be permanently BOGOF).
Rasberry doughnut flavour however was minging.
-
had another one today - theyre DEFINITELY at least half the thicknes they once were. its a damn shame. i used to enjoy the feeling of guilt i got when drinking one... i could hear my internal organs screaming at me every time. mmm.
and nowe theyre watery thin and taste like nothing special... -sigh-
-
I agree about the raspberry doughnut flavour kevvosa. Choc Chick did you mean that the M & S banana shakes were 'lovely and quick'. I'm confused!

I dread to think what choc-chick means when she says "lovely and quick"
-
just had my 1st choc-brownie today - EUCK! it was like eating pure, concentrated evil... like everything from a list of what not to eat was put in a blender and sold to the public in a bottle... truly horrible stuff!
still a big fan of the original choc flavour. i wish theyd bring back the extreme brand.

Stop moaning, theres nowt wrong with the fudge one. The normal chocolate ones tastes like protein powder milkshake.

-
nonono - the fudge one is simply vile. if i wanted to taste something like that, id eat christmas cake.
-
I'm sure they will make a Frijj Xmas Cake flavour in due course.
-
oh dear - it sounds about right...
-
How about the mount caramel flavour were you not impressed with that either?
-
I've never tasted a Frijj - I hate milk shakes. I love
cold milk, chocolate, bananas, stawberries etc but
the only way I'd mix them is: sliced bananas
sprinkled with sugar and cold milk poured over them
or chocolate with a glass of cold milk. Strawberries
belong with ice cream or champagne.
-
When I was very small, the milkman used to deliver a heavenly chocolate drink called a Mickey. It was divine. I have never tasted anything like it since. They cost about 10d I think (about 4p in today's money) and that was quite a lot for my mother to find so they were a rare treat. I think that around London, you could also buy them from milk vending machines, which were common in those days.
-
The Vanilla Milkshake from M&S is gorgeous. I brought some this morning. It's just like melted ice cream

-
I agree - all M & S milkshakes are totally yum. Expensive, but sometimes you can get 3 for 2.
-
I treated myself today because it's the first day of term here and I
have to walk my students to Camden. Took over an hour there and back.
So on the way back to work I popped in M&S and got the vanilla one.
I have only seen banana and vanilla one so far.
-
They do strawberry and choc too - choc is the best but all are good.
-
I want the Strawberry one. Is it pink?
-
No it's blue.
-

It is indeed pink, but not flourescent pink like some brands; it looks like it might have once seen a strawberry.
-
on the subject of luminous drinks... about 5/6 years ago, my local Asda was stocking a 'simpsons' based brand of fizzy drinks (6-pack of cans.) there was yellow krusty cola, purple lisa vimto-ripoff, bright green apple homer etc... the reason i mention this is because the bart cherry-bomb cherry coke (beats coca-cola)was AMAZING... and i aint seen them round in years! they still out there? any1 know for sure?

I might have to go to M&S today and get the pink milkshake. I have just finished the vanilla one from yesterday.
I might need to sample their cheese scones. I made some last night in my quest to be a domestic goddess.
-
No it's blue.

-
You are getting very domesticated aren't you Choccy Chick? I think I'm going over the top if I make a spag bol these days!
-
I I made some last night in my quest to be a domestic goddess.
Trying to take on smurfy eh
-

I had my scone around 11ish and it was gorgeous. The inside with soft,
crumbly yet firm and the cheese on top had gone a gorgeous golden
colour and tasted divine. The blueberry muffins were also pretty good.
I also knocked up a Potatoe Layer Bake last night. That was yum too
-
Sadly I am not Delia Smith and therefore had a mountain of washing up to do at the end of it!!

-
You should have him better trained than that Choccy Chick!
-
I will do when we live together. It was me and mum who were making scones last night
-
Thank god for my dishwasher is all I can say!
You have inspired me Choccy - I think I'll make bread tonight.
-
Sadly I am not Delia Smith
That's definitely not something to be sad about.
-

Ah, sorry - I assumed you did live together. You will make him very happy!
-
I hope so! He said he is not a big fan of scones but he had them because I made them

-
Thank god for my dishwasher is all I can say!

Did you make bread smurfy?
-
I didn't because I went shopping and bought some, having forgotten I was going to make some. Might try at the weekend now.
