Title: Double Decker song
Post by: smurfboy on September 21, 2005, 02:30:02 pm

Can anyone remember the words? It was all about things that go well together. The only bits I can remember are:

'...Punch and Judy, go together like crunchy and chewy, dum de dum de dum de dum and raisins, it's a fascinating combination! Cadbury's Double Decker, Cadbury's Double Decker...'

I have just had a look at this site. I remember and loved these ads:
Dime Bar, Barcleys with Mr Bean, Golden Crown Spread, Cadburys Caramel
and Wrigleys. I will be watching them later if my PC at home will let
me.

Don't remember hardly any of the words, but it was to the tune of "Love and Marriage" wasn't it?  It will be in my head all day now......

Google is wrong!

Double Decker never had any nuts first time round, just raisins, rice, nougat and chocolate.

DD never had nuts in! I don't even remember the raisins in it. Tell me again, were they in the crunchy base or the nougat?

Why do they frigging well keep taking raisins out of everything? Amazin Raisin bar - GONE! Ginger and Raisin creams in Terry's All Gold boxes - GONE! Raisins in Picnic bars - GONE! Raisins in DD - GONE!

Raisins were in the base Oldspice.

Remember I said two different degrees of chew wouldn't be too nice?(Nougat and raisins together)

Organic Raisins are grown in grape vineyards that have had at least three consecutive growing seasons without the use of pesticides, herbicides or added fertilizers.  Organic raisins have extensive audit trail documentation to verify its authenticity of being organically grown, processed and shipped loulou38845.8055208333

I bought one today for research purposes  and the raisins were all present and correct.

Perhaps they are swamped by the peanuts?

I think the recipe has changed over the years. I remember my mum saying once she didn't like Picnics anymore because 'they put raisins in them'. This must be twenty years ago though.

I think one of them grew up to be a very famous actor indeed. A total heart throb. Could it have been Colin Firth?

It was Peter Firth, star of 'Equus', 'Hunt for Red October' and 'Pearl Harbour'.

Thanks IMDB!

If you wanna leave
I won't beg you to stay
And if you gotta go, darling
Maybe it's better that way

I'm gonna be strong
I'm gonna do fine
Don't worry about this heart of mine
(And walk out that door
See if I care
Go on and go)
But...

Chorus:
Don't turn around
'cause you're gonna see my heart breakin'
Don't turn around
I don't want you seein' me cry
Just walk away
It's tearin' me apart that you're leavin'
I'm lettin' you go
But I won't let you know
I wont let you know

I won't miss your arms around me
Holdin' me tight (holdin' me tight)
And if you ever think about me
Just know that I'll be alright
(I'll be alright)

I'm gonna be strong
I'm gonna do fine
Don't worry about this heart of mine
(I know I'll survive
I'll make it through
I'll even learn to live without you)

Chorus

I wish I could scream out loud that I love you
I wish I could say to you don't go
As he walks away, he feels the pain gettin' strong
People in your life, they don't know what's going on
Too proud to turn around, he's gone
