Title: Texan saga
Post by: oldspice on September 17, 2005, 02:24:44 pm

Has anyone found Texans in any of the multiples like Woolies or tescos or anywhere yet? I have not found a single one anywhere in Peterborough.

Luckily, I ordered some from Hello Sweetie but once those were gone I wasn't bothered about buying anymore. It wouldn't bother me if they don't continue to make them but what it does prove is that a lot of chocolate bars get axed not because people don't like them but because of their poor availability. Stores are not carrying out proper marketing investigations to see what the public really want to buy and eat.

I've only seen them in my local BP petrol station. I've
not seen them anywhere else in London. You're right
oldspice, the buyers for large stores aren't doing
their jobs properly. Nestle is also doing a poor job in
their distribution and marketing, you'd think that
they'd have allocated a sizeable amount of their
advertising budget  to the Texan launch.

I have only seen them in one newsagent here, definitely not in Morrisons, Tesco or Asda and some of my friends don't even believe they are out again.

Or me. This has to be one of the most spectacular own goals ever by Nestle.

They bring out SO MANY new products though that I dont think they can
afford it. What have we had this year? New Aeros, orange Rolos,
xploding smarties bars, various Kitkat flavours, wonka bars etc.

Whereas Cadbury and Mars bring out new products less often but with
propper launches. Also any new Dairy Milk flavour will be snapped up by
all shops anyway cos it's the bes selling chocolate bar.

If  you are in the southwest “Trago Mills” of all place had them!

Like we're all going to drive to Trago for the chance of a Texan!!

I heard from someone here they were at the Texaco garage but they are now sold out... They were definitely not at Woolworths when I went last weekend.

Beats me. It overtook Kitkat as the number 1 chocolate bar.

Cos it tastes better! Cadbury chocolate is much nicer than Nestle. nestel is too sweet and cheap tasting.

It's actually really nice. Just right, not too sweet and not too
creamy. Also plenty of choice. Caramel, shortcake biscuit and fruit and
nut all swap places as being my favourite.

I like crystal and Akhenaten.  Also for some very strange reason, staphylococci!
