Does anyone remember their first chocolate 'experience' (that they can recall, at least!)??
I think mine was eating Milkyway when I was about two, and my Nan would always feed me on it when I vistied for Sunday lunch.
It was Maltesers that really got me hooked though!

My first real memories of it are going to the newsagents (now sadly a kitchenware shop) after going to the doctors - chocolate was my treat. I favoured Golden Cup on those trips, or Dairy Milk, which unbelievably was 20p a bar then; how old does that make me feel? And what does it say about inflation, seeing as I'm only 25? 
Another happy memory is my fortnightly chocs and sweets selection from my gran - a big fan of Thorntons. Chocolate mice, fondant and jelly varieties, were a big favourite.

Chocolate mice! I'd forgotten about those.....a slush-puppy used to be my treat after the doctors.
I don't think I've ever tried golden cup though. Are they still around?

It was a bit like Cadbury's Caramel, except the caramel was runny rather than gooey.

I must have been very young - about three years old. The only grandparent I ever knew was my dad's dad and he died when I was about four. He was strict and stern but he always had a small brick of Cadbury's Dairy Milk for his grandchildren. I can distantly remember him fishing a bar out of his pocket for me with a twinkle in his stern eye.
As a small child I would accompany my mother to the shops. We were quite poor and treats were rare. However, I remember being allowed to select a wrapped biscuit from the selection at the grocers every now and then. I always chose a Jacobs Orange Club. I loved the way the bar was neatly and tightly wrapped - like a small parcel - and it smelled so much of oranges and had a beautiful orange on the front.
I felt like the richest and luckiest girl in the world to have such a luxury in my hand.
