I have just had some orange flavour Rolos, on the wrapper it says
"deliciously creamy milk chocolate Rolos filled with tangy florida
orange flavoured caramel"
but on the ingredients section it says: "Milk chocolate with an orange flavoured soft toffee centre"
Does this mean that caramel is simply "soft toffee"?
Can anyone help with these definitions?

I have always supposed caramel to be soft toffee.

me too.

Just checked the dictionary and caramel is basically sugar cooked until it turns brown but toffee is made from sugar and butter. So they're not really the same thing.

Is that how cinder toffee is made too, by cooking sugar until it turns brown.
