Title: Sell me a Texan!
Post by: smurfboy on September 01, 2005, 02:34:03 pm

Okay, I'm getting desperate. Can anyone who knows where to buy these sell me a couple? I will pay all postage and packing!! Or if you prefer, I know where to find some rare/soon to be discontinued products and we could do a swap! (Orange Aeros, DD with Nuts, Nutrageous, Peanut Butter Cups, Nuts, Mr Tom...)

P.S. This is not an invite for British Candy, Hello Sweetie, www.sweetsatripoffprices.com to place an ad telling me to buy a box of 36! No offence, I know you have businesses to run, but I've never tried this bar and don't want to throw 35 away if I hate it!

I didn't insult her site. I'm going to ignore your purile comments and thank Hello Sweetie for a very kind offer.

P.S. Hello Sweetie - Robbie has already mentioned that he bought five Texans the other day, so there's no need to send him a free one.

You insinuated that she rips people off.

Please re-read your post if you are confused.

OK, let's get this straight. I love sweets. I stumbled
upon this forum and realised that there are other
people who are as passionate about/obsessed with
sweets as I am. Of course I promote my website, I'm
bloody proud of it. BUT I am not a money grabbing
corporate bitch. I've waited years for Texans, Invalid
Butter Toffee and Sherbet Pips to be brought back
and the most upsetting thing is being so excited that
Texans are back and lots of people don't even
remember them. Give me a break please.
Now, who remembers proper Invalid Butter Toffee?

Oh dear, I've had a few glasses of wine with my
friends in town tonight and just realised after reading
Robbie's comment that, Smurfboy, you were having
a go at me. My answer was directed at all of
you....why are you so bloody cynical and disparaging
of me? I joined this forum because I've found
like-minded people. OK, we got off to a bad start with
the "Texan War" and maybe I should've been more
underhand and signed up with some weird name
like Womblegirl but I didn't know at the time that I
would become The www.sweetsatripoffprices.com
enemy.

Chill out Sweetie. You have a fantastic website, give good value compared to other similar websites and I think the speed with which you deliver the goods and the way you package the goods beats any other sweetie website.

Keep up the good work.

I've already spoken with Hello Sweetie by private message, but just in case there's any confusion, I didn't mean any of my comments to be taken personally. If you read my original post you'll see I mentioned British Candy too! My point was that I was asking a favour, not for an advert. It wasn't meant to cause offence.

Robbie, I've just put Pint Pots and Lager Tops on
Hello Sweetie for you. Someone else asked for Fish
'n' Chips, I can't remember who, so I've now got them
too. I've put about 30 new sweets on Hello Sweetie
today. I'm very bored of typing all the ingredients in.
Any more suggestions from anyone for when I next
go shopping?

Are the fish n chips the chocolate ones?

My boyfriend remembers the fish n chip biscuits. They were in a packet like mini cheddars. Can you get those??

Yep, Fish 'n' chips are white chocolate. I don't
remember the biscuits but  I'll have a look for them.
